I know this has been asked loads before but while I am here how do the GTX480 overclock like, it will be under water so heat shouldn't be too much of an issue, it would be the Asus GTX480 I am thinking of getting as it looks like the SOC version is not stock PCB

Very good clockers. No, the Gigabytes aren't ref designs.

You must be cursed. My friend is cursed badly when it comes to technology. He has problems with everything he does, and it's definitely a curse because I often redo things for him, in the same steps and it always works for me.

My 5850 - never OC'd
480 - DOA
iPhone 4 - bricked itself somehow - before i was going to jailbreak
iTouch 3rd gen - Just... died

My bad luck is one of the reasons i want NV so badly. NO ATI BRAND HAS DECENT CS

Most reference 480s will hit 850mhz on air let alone water

For Example: a 480 would now be replaced with a GTX 570

Yes i had a 480 on the same PSU, brill PSU and one of the best 650w around

I'm not making it a problem, this is a discussion forum, I'm discussing, and the point was, not everyone thought Fermi was fine, hence this thread. Fair enough if you think it was fine.

I think you're cursed when it comes to RMAs too, as I've had no problems with ATi RMAs and so on.

Ive had my 470's a while now, still extremely pleased with them, got the heat/noise issues pretty much tamed, due to a combination of good case cooling and custom fan setting. Power consumption is high, but not as much as i expected, particularly in normal gaming, 530w ono with the spec in my sig, cards oc'd as well.
