List your top 10 pro gamers

Happy to say I don't know any 'pro' gamers.

In fact, I find the whole thing quite sad and pathetic tbh. I play games, but for fun, and I have some amazing rounds and terrible rounds. I've been asked to join many clans over the last 15 years, and I've told them all the same thing "I haven't got the time to dedicate to training", it's not why I play games.

As for frag videos, many are incredibly suspect, shooting people before they can even see them etc. but if any of us recorded ourselves playing over a period of weeks I am sure we could all put together a quick ass frag video :)
 
In all honesty a gaming vid thread wouldnt be bad. From speed runs, fps vids and good tricks etc. From the OP I (and I assume many others) thought you were asking people to fap over the basement dwellers. Barely anybody cares about specific gamers, decent vids are good aslong as it isnt just a 'look at how awesomes I am guys!!!' borefest.

Exactly. Once you start taking something which is fun too seriously it stops becoming fun. I was asked to join a L4D2 clan, and we were going to start practicing on hunter training maps. I instantly lost interest in the idea. Gaming is something I want to dip in and out of, not something which I have to prepare and practise on.
 
One of my best friends in real life was a pro gamer for a few years playing Halo 2. Doesn't do it now but he has been to China, Singapore, New York and other places all paid for to enter tournaments etc.

This is what I was going for. I've seen enough cut up vids of people knifing noobs on pub servers to last a lifetime, I was focussing on pro players because they play against other people on their skill level and I find their reaction times and aim quite impressive. I don't have posters up, I just like watching people do what I do for fun at a much higher level. I thought it would be cool to see if there was a "best" player out there, but clearly no one gives a toss about the people so I'm happy to drop that aspect.
 
Speaking of tournaments, the whole thing is a scam anyway.

I've a friend at works who's clan got to the finals of a tourney, but the organisers told them that no one was there to see them play and they should allow one of the pro teams through as the people they represented sponsored the event.

They we're basically dumped to 3rd place and given the prize for it so the pros could play in the final. Not exactly what I would call fair.

Yep forgot to mention it was on the xbox :D

Thing was he was just as good on PC FPS. Think he played for the UK team in Tac Ops or had trials at least (been a while!)
 
You have to admit the pro guys do have some crazy aim skills. I used to beat all my friends and cousins at FPS games, I thought about doing tourny's but never found any local ones going on so I gave up. But props for the pro guys who are making a living out of playing games. But if they're training for 10-12 hours EVERY day then it's no surprise they're so good really.
 
Ok a top 10 of the best I've seen over the past 10 years in ut1 at their peaks.

Rest of top 10. Mr. Frost, Fallen_Angel, Zole, Lauke, d0h, Nex, firefox, zubarFLY, Gitzz.

Really so many great players have played UT it's hard to make a list of just 10.
 
this is a bit of a weird thread :)

but anyway if i had to pick one

it will probably be Mouz sports from back in the CS1.6 days when i was still a kid and watching them play on the telly :D

and the best player they've probably had was Blizzard or Roman R.

He's not pro but used to wipe out entire teams at tournaments.

I don't know the names of any of them. I enjoy playing games but by heck I don't want to watch other playing them.
 
no one who truly inspires me played with some very good players and some of them play at top teams still for cod and cs .

most of the frag movies you watch are from med plus to highs going on pub servers ruining lows :p same thing redone over and over.

do like watching top matches though .

a lot of the good fps players i know now just play wow or lol :( which i find quite sad :p
