To report or not to report ?

I've never understood the false 'honour' thing that some people exhibit: "never grass" etc. If it is against the law and being done deliberately, inform the correct authority, simples.

If it were a mate, I'd have a word first and tell 'em what I'd do if I caught 'em again but other people, no conscience about 'grassing 'em up'.

Can i ask how you saw him dealing drugs? What did he do wave about a bag of white powder shouting HEY EVERYBODY LOOK AT THIS! Or did you see someone go to the door for a few seconds / minutes and then leave?

And so do accountants, lawyers, doctors ... Your point ?

The friendly chap you buy your newspapers from is screwing the system too and let's not even start by talking about the big boys.

Catching the petty thief is a start but not the solution.

You really don't know do you?
So what if other people break the law, this particular case is unique to the OP because he knows what's going on and who's doing it.

You can't just go up and accuse random people, this is why the right thing to do is report.

There's a few people in my area who don't work, yet have 2-3 cars on the drive and live very comfortable life styles. Some you know do drugs definitely and others, not so sure.

The thing is, it's been going on for well over 10 years and they are still active. Surely someone has gotten jealous and reported them, why has nothing ever been done? Are they smarter than the system, they must be... yet looking at them you wouldn't think so.

I'm not the jealous type to be honest, if the man next to me has a ferrari and a model I honestly wouldn't care. I'm happy with what I have and tend not to care about anyone elses possessions or life.

However it does make me wonder why nothing has been done in all these years.

To answer the original question. I personally wouldn't bother reporting him, I'm quite sure your not the only one to know of his dodgy dealings. However feel free to do so... it's not such a bad idea.

I've never known or heard of a drug dealing computer geek before, that's a new one on me :d

Springs to mind:

hmm so how do u know he was dealing ?
how do you know he hasnt got a condition that is serious illness but is not obvious to the eye.

how do you know everything about this person ? curtain twitcher i bet :p

There is a case for legalising (and taxing) certain recreational drugs, however (and I am loathe to assert being older as wisdom) I have seen many people take drugs safely in recreation in their twenties only to either ruin their lives and (within my own peer group) seen over a dozen people lose their lives directly attributed to drug use.

I doubt they were taking them recreationally if they did enough to kill them, perhaps recreaSHEENaly. Unless they already had health issues that were exacerbated by their usage.

It lies with morality. Not everything that's illegal is morally wrong and vice versa.

yeah bud this is morally wrong, peopl ewith real disabilitys cant claim because of scumbags like the persont he op is talking about

I didn't say it wasn't. I haven't, and will not, give my opinion on the issue in this thread.

Its how it began.

Recreational drug use in their teens and twenties leading to addiction and the inevitable outcomes.

I wouldn't waste your time attempting to justify drug dealing or drug use to me, I have heard just about every argument there is to be had.

Cannabis and a few other drugs need to be legal and taxed, everything else should be stamped out and no disrespect to you or anyone, having seen an inordinate amount of friends die from drug use a debate on a forum won't change my opinion.

Not trying to justify, just saying that using them recreationally did not kill them, becoming addicted and overdoing them is what did.

I know countless people who have dabbled in their teens and twenties, then stopped, and even some that partake maybe twice a year whilst in their 40s, all who lead perfectly good and normal lives.

Ironically, I don't think highly of dealing/dealers for some reason, but a moderate user is perfectly acceptable in my books.

tl;dr - Grass the scumbag!
