Nah, full replacement discs and pads all round will be about £400 + labour.....suspension and radiators on the other hand.....
Not at an OPC it wont be 400 quid, and if he wants a warranty thats where it will need to go really.

Ok understand the risks with warranty so will consider this carefully. From where I am sitting at the moment 1k for piece of mind is fair, if the car performs without fault ive wasted 1k if it doesn't and the engine goes pop i've saved 3k.
Swings and roundabouts I guess. Either way its looking like the normal prestige car issues, expensive parts and labour but by the sounds of things these cars are pretty reliable.

There's no way I'd take an 02-05 car to an OPC for servicing - can you even get an OPC warranty on a 6 year old car?
The £400 is the price for the OEM parts, but what an OPC would charge on top I don't know.
Personally I'd spend a couple of hundred on a specialist inspection then use the same place for servicing and gamble on the IMS.

Me too, i wouldnt bother with an OPC warranty, my wifes Cayenne wont be getting it renewed but then im a he who dares wins sort of bloke, if i was on any sort of budget though i just wouldnt even contemplate a Porsche without that warranty.
Think this is what my plan is going to be... he who dares wins and all that!
- Like yourself I have no fixed budget but have wanted one for a while. I have therefore set an upper end budget of 15 - 18k including the trade in of my 08 car.Edit: Contradicted myself massively there after re-reading... you get what I mean though.

Good man, i like that, get the inspection done though, and get a 2003 onwards with a glass back window, fantastic little cars.
I'd say with a 6-9 year old Porsche Boxster S with no warranty you may well lose, unless you aim to get one that's already had everything already done instead of going for less than XX miles or something.

Just mashes up your discs, nothings cheap on these cars but they are superb cars, you get what you pay for, thats why i have suits made and dont buy them in Burton

Anyway it alright for you your young, when you get to my age you need all the help you can get looking good, obviously my huge charm and whit usually wins the ladies over but a good suit never hurt anyone

I hear you... the only problem here is that I cant find one nationally that meets my requirements. The one I have found is a fair bit cheaper and has more miles. I am going to see three of them at the weekend.
1 is black with tan interior - bose stereo, 02 plate with what appears to be all the toys (not sure i like the 18" wheels though).
1 is silver with the red trim on an 05 - wont get all the toys in this one but does come with the 17's as opposed to 18's.
the other is the dark horse, its a dark blue colour with black interior, unfortunatly it has a blue dash
- has more toys and the right wheels though.My ideal would be black with the tan <40k mileage, 17" wheels and all the toys.
So you should only buy a Porsche when you need all the help you can get to look good
