What shall i do with it.

Im coming into about 1,500 and I dont know what to do with it ?

Obviously computer based as its in the GH forum . but.

Eyefinity ?

I have no clue. Suggestions ?

Post in GD instead and get some recommendations that aren't computer based?

I'd either put it in savings/towards a larger purchase, or go on holiday.

If it was me, i'd buy an LG 50PK350 TV - review here (for watching movies/TV), three Dell U2311H monitors (for eyefinity gaming with IPS) and a second 5870 - assuming your board can handle it (to give you the extra oomph to push all those pixels).

mine cant handle multi gfx.

i have a 40inch samsung. so ?

forget the tv, buy a new 890fx mobo and whack two 5870s in it ?

Ah, fair enuf.

You may also want to consider a cheeky upgrade to SB while you are at it (so sell the old CPU at the same time as the old motherboard). i5 2500K + P67 board that does x8/x8 CF. Keep the RAM and add in that XFX 5870 that is on the deal for £160.

If you don't want to do SB, then a 890FX board is your best bet.

Would you go for eyefinity from there?

I have money for that already, just a suprise for this money, so

I want to spend it on something extra. i want everything to show for it, not my booze fees on the weekend .

How does this look?

The Dell monitors are IPS and REALLY nice, hence why I went for them (review here). Also, they have Displayport input - so you don't need to faff about with adapters to DVI (like you would with the BenQs).

i was talking about the money left for a sandy bridge upgrade after the mobo is taken out of it.

Looks good but 700 quid on monitors :| they must be good ? are they 16:10 ?

i might spend the rest on a new desk after that. thanks. looks good.

also i could always get two more viewsonics ?

Yes, of course - just realise that. Maths fail on my part.

As for the monitor - yes they are good. They really are. Used to be ~£260 each, but the price has dropped a bit recently. They are still 16:9 1080p, but the key features are the lovely IPS panel (have a look at that TFTcentral review I link to above), great stands and dell warranty. Well worth the extra over the BenQs imho.

Fair enough, I'd still want to set aside a little bit instead of blowing the lot!

Don't waste money on an extra graphics card, I did this and there is literally hundreds of other things I could spend £250 on now :( Crossfire seemed important to me at the time but I realize now it makes little to no difference.

Buy some clothes, get a nice watch, new shoes, perhaps get a tablet (if that takes your fancy)... Other suggestions rather than PC related - and more interesting to women! :p

Im ditching Eyefinity, im gonna buy a 6950 sell my 5870 and then tidy up my pc a bit with extensions and shiz.

then im gonna get that wheel, which should be around 440.

the rest is going to go on a new bed and desk, then clothes, watches and all that dazzle .

Thanks for bring reality into things. i dont think a girl will like coming back to mine and i have 3 monitors and a awful bed XD
