You're supposed to provide a shedding box which is basically a margerine tub or similar with some damp sphagnum moss inside. It helps make the skin more supple and easy to come off.I used to have one of these - very cool pet.
Mine unfortunately died one night due to a "bad shed".
Shedded her skin (which they normally eat), but it got stuck over her face and she died..
Just a warning - keep an eye on her whilst shedding if you can!
I was also told that mine was male.. and I thought that for about a year, until she laid some eggs![]()
Leopard geckos are great pets though, I managed to successfully hatch about 8 babies using a DIY incubator and sold them to my local exotic pet store. Mind you, the tank was bloody massive so they felt pretty comfortable.
I kept 4 females alongside a male with no fighting whatsoever. The only incident I had was one of the females losing the very tip of her tail due to mistaken identity ! One of the other girls saw her tail twitching just before she was about to pounce on a cricket and mistook it for something edible. They do grow back though but not as pretty as the original.
OP if you need any advice give me a shout, be glad to help
