***Official OcUK 52 project thread (kinda) *** - Week 8 Onwards?

silly question maybe what is the 52 week challange? just 1 picture a week?
Aye, the challange is to take a pic of something once every week, some people are following themes set by other websites (such as TalkPhotography) and others like myself have no set theme but just an excuse to use the camera more.

That's bloody good, where did you capture that?

There was a fire (arson) at a nature resure just over the road from me and I grabbed my camera and ran for it (to take pics!). I have a series of these with the fire at various stages and most of them are quite good - local newspaper weren't interested in any of them :(

Here is my week 12 entry taken at borough market. I really wish I had a low apeture lens, this was the best I could manage with my measly F4 24-105L. How do you guys get your borders sorted. I don't mess around in photoshop more than just tweaking my photographs.

For Borders I have an action setup in photoshop (enlarging canvas size a few times using a mix of black and White backgrounds). Ideally I'd like to be able to do my Borders directly from lightroom to drop the extra photoshop stage.

Ok let me know if the bordered version is nicer.

Heh, wifey got one of those from school as an 'teaching aid'; certainly teaching me how to use one!

Here's mine for this week, nice and simple with me playing with my new hotshoe flash and remote triggers.

Week 13 - FLASH!

I've been pretty much non stop ill for 5 weeks, and enjoyed the noro virus too. That was every bit of fun as you'd imagine. Now I have a cold! I have a LOT of catching up to do, I think I'm 3 weeks behind as of tomorrow.

Also, my funds for a 5dmkII took a hit today. I bought a Martin D15 so that's me down to about £50 saved again :D

Week 13, I decieded to do the full length panoramic shot of greenwich. This is the full size version. I have been particularly busy this week and this was a very rushed photoshoot.

OK, so i'm back from hols and I've a mega catch-up to post; I've not forgotten about this but just life getting in the way

Week 15 - Motion
52-15.jpg

This was taken whilst on holiday and I was trying to capture the moody sky and motion of the boat I was taking a trip on; i think it came out quite well, bit of PP to curves but nothing major.

Week 16 - Sunset
52-16.jpg

A long exposure over Windermere, I was aiming to get the silky smooth water look as well as some good colours; unfortunately due to the clear sky there wasn't much colour happening there so I had to make do with what I had.

Week 17 - Party Cakes
52-17.jpg

Well, it was the week of the wedding and we had a street party and one of the neighbours had sorted these cakes out and I thought this made a good shot.

Week 18 - Thinking
52-18.jpg

I sort of got involved in taking some photos of a show rehearsal a friend was involved and this is one of the ones that I only saw after I downloaded them, i thought it was genius on my part (luck morelike :p)

Week 19 - Dancing the Jig
52-19.jpg

Late into the evening of a wedding reception, the bestman decided the dance the jig over his pint of beer, I was waiting for it to go flying but amazingly it didn't; don't know how :o It was my first use in night shots using an external flash and I did a bit (read lots) of messing around with it.
