***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

I can see this happening they will enable the dx11 features and it looks much better, then people will be moaning again as it runs like a dog on there new 580gtx.

I doubt it will look much better, but I'm sure it might cause a performance drop.

It will be lacking all the optimizations and performance benefits from coding in DX11 from the start. It probably won't even support Tessellation since it wasn't coded in DX11 from the ground up.

If it was it wouldn't be backwards compatible with DX9.

It's the main reasons why Dice are only using DX10/11 for BF3.

So I think we'll only be getting some minor effects like we saw in the past when DX10 was patched in, along with a performance drop since it's not coded from the ground up to take advantage of the API or hardware out there using dx11.

I rarely am able to connect to a server and frequently even if I do I will eventually lose connection to it :(

Anybody else having this problem with the multiplayer?

I wasnt yesterday. I am today. Every map is 'game is full' or 'connection to the server has been lost'. Very bad there, would have thought, if anything, the demo would have given them a chance to sort the multiplayer bugs out. Ah well enjoying the single player still so can carry on till its fixed (hopefully soon - even though it shouldnt have happened at all).

Still impressed with how well it runs on medium-low end hardware. 16x10 (not the biggest but meh) resolution. Using an athlon x3 435 (unlocked to an phenom x4 b35) OCd slightly to 3.2 with 4gb of kingston value ram and a stock evga 768mb gtx 460. Getting 35fps average on the highest settings with no visible dips or slowdowns. Very smooth and playable at that.

Edit: 3 games in a row tried now. Each just hanging in the lobby refusing to tick over into the game. These were issues that were in and resolved for the demo... Makes no sense that its here again for the retail full version.

i have been playing this all weekend have to agree on the comments being made about the game being more cramped, Crysis was awsome in respect of how to approach checkpoints, you could choose to be really stealthy plant some C4 and watch the fireworks from a distant or jump in jeep and melee into the base. i found it alittle repatitive Got to this objective... shoot some men/aliens.... movie.. rinse and repeat, the enviroment is not really destructable as much as the first crysis. the graphics are beautiful the blooming effects from the sun, they do bring out the game but everything seems to look PLASTIC anyone agree???, hopefully the 3rd one will be set back on a tropical island.

Phew, at least it is not just me. Still really disapointed I wasted so much time over the weekend trying to play the multiplayer, I should have just left it till it is fixed

Anyone running it on old hardware? Specifically a 4870 1GB? How does it run?
With my 4870x2 running with 1 gpu at 1920x1200 on High settings with clocks both set to 500 i get 30fps. I'm having a lot of problems with this game overheating my card at default clocks. With default clocks i get about 60fps but the temp gets to around 105 degrees :(

So you should be fine.

I run a 5770 512mb (basically the same as the 4870) and it runs pretty well on 'Very High' at 1920x1080. The vram is holding the performance back for me, so your 1Gb should be fine.

Losing ranks, poor crossfire performance, mutliplayer cd-key bug, constant server crashes. But Crytek don't care as they are raking in the money from Johnny-XBOX

For those who say this isn't a port - you are ******* retarded. "Press Start to begin" on the demo? Not a port? Really? I mean, ******* really? Get a grip

I can't believe that my old but trusty 8800GTX runs this so smoothly. All settings are maxed @1680x1050.I don't know about fps and I don't care tbh,no slowdowns until now.Don't know if the game will be more demanding as it progresses though.
