I turned up at Eldon Square at 3:30pm was 4th in the queue at John Lewis and was on my way home with my iPad by 5:15.

Walked past the 3 lengths of queue to the apple store shaking my head.

I would imagine some Apple stores have covers in stock, they are just out of stock for online ordering, go and try them if there is one near you?

You're correct. The red covers are exclusive to Apple (in store and online).

So annoying, ordered from PCW when they were in stock then found out they had none.. ordered from Comet when they definitely had some in stock so i placed an order, 1 hour later my bank refused payment for some reason so the order has been canceled, now they have none in stock, great.

I don't have an Apple store near me, nearest one is MK which is an hour away. Long way to go to find out they don't have any

If anyone lives near one and they have stock, and it wouldn't be too much trouble, could they possibly buy me a red leather case, and I'll of course BT you the money and cover postage

I know from past Apple product releases, there have always been a shortage of devices immediately after the release. I've never really paid attention to it, but how long does it normally take Apple to sort out supplies so that stock is more readily available?

I'm intending to get the iPad 2, and wasn't going to get it till end of April. However if I'm going to be waiting 3-4 weeks for it, maybe I should just order it now.

I have a DPD tracking number from Orange, and I selected tomorrow for my delivery date... so here's hoping

Interesting that the phone sales team always say something completely random every time you speak to them. Hopeless gibbons.
