in concept..... and on paper... this film sounds ace.
Can't help after watching the most recent trailer that other than looking glorious in many different ways...
its going to be utter gash in terms of being a good film.

Oh man, this was terrible. Even the action sequences can't really save it, which as a 'I can take a popcorn flick for what it is' guy, is saying something. The major problem is the brothel fantasy isn't even grounded in reality properly, let alone the high-fantasy/sf bits for most of the film, so it just feels like it's being done for the sake of it, rather than as a kind of augmented reality thing. The ending was also completely bizarre and er... crap.
Have to concur, saw it last night, terrible film. I thought I would love it but is an absolute mess. Snyder dropped the ball here. The action sequences don't make up for it, if anything they just make you realise how crap the film is. Thought the last 20 or so minutes picked up a bit but then it ended like that.....eugh.

This is such a ridiculous comment.
All the best looking action films have some semblance of plot, or at least a kind of coherence that gives the visuals something to work with, even if th acting is dodgy, or the dialogue is poor etc.
I'm a huge fan of no brainer action films, they're actually the reason I'm interested in films in the first place, and I can appreciate them for what they do but sometimes a film is just so awful that the visuals, or spectacular action can't save it no matter how gorgeous it looks, or how well thought out the set pieces are.
This is one of those films.

oh no.. shes been sent to a loony bin, but its not, its a brothel, and she's gotta dance, but she closes her eyes and its the front line of the first world war and she's a supersoldier suddenly, and then it all goes a bit pete tong.
yes it has girls, yes it has special effects, but I really didn't see anything to make me want to watch it more than once, and I wouldnt touch the dvd/blueray. Shame, had potential, but far too fractured and "there isnt really a story.. honest".

Terrible movie
Its like two different movies
One is a bunch of small unrelated action scenes like those CGI effects companys use to demostrate what they can do
The other is sort of a mismash of prison break and some other movie I have scene that wasnt very good.
Both then a bunch of scantly clad girls and the main start looks like such a blonde bimbo it hurts. If I want soft porn I will watch soft porn
Terrible move, terrible plot, jumbled and non sensicle story line. I kind of felt the cast didnt really know what to make of the movie due to the rubbish dialog.
It is basically the kind of movie a 15 year old boy would think was 'cool'

It's a strange movie, i went in expecting a complete no brain, insane action, hot girl flick and thats what it is, but it confuses me as to what it's trying to be. It's complete eye candy but with some 'emotional' element rammed in the middle so hard that you sit there squirming waiting for some semblance of a plot to back up all the tears...
You want something to show off your home cinema rig, this is awesome, want something to turn your brain off and enjoy the ride? even this is stretching it.

I think i might just go to see this with Orange Wednesdays or risk the extra money for the awesome sound and visuals of the IMAX, hopefully that will save it a bit..?
