It happens every year in those parts of the US. A friend when he lived there said that he used to go and buy a brand new car really cheap after those storms as they were all pockmarked with hailstones

Eeek that weather system is about to strike where I live in the next couple of hrs. Fortunately the hail stones will have melted by the time it hits my car !

Gotta watch out for those bolts of lightening mind. Quite a few people end up zapped in these neck of the woods.

Just caught the edge of all that stuff - we had some pretty good hail and the lightning was pretty much constant all around us (like being in a room with a dodgy fluorescent tube!) but it was all a long way off.

Just the start of it though - another 4 months of severe weather to look forward to here in the Midwest

People have been saying this for years and have been proven wrong. Nowadays, we have such widespread media coverage that any natural disaster that is reported is misused for the cliché of end times with even more fervent belief. Why is now any more special compared to the natural disasters of the past?
