Hi all my current motherboard only has support for sata 2 but iwill be upgrading my motherbaord when ivy bridge is released. so i need a bit of advise, do i pay extra for a ocz vertex 3 and use it as sata 2? or go for something like intels 320 series or crucial m4s? i really cant decide which one to go for any suggestions

If it were me I'd go Intel for reliability. Sure the other drives are faster but lets be honest any SSD will provide a excellent upgrade for most day to day tasks. If you must have the latest and greatest then plump for the Vertex 3.

Yes this is a good point this is my first upgrade to ssd so im sure il notice the difference what ever ssd I get. I have noticed they sell the intel 320 series as oem which only givs you 1 years warranty should I buy oem or retail?

Get one of them last gen drives on offer (original vertex or agility) then once your new spec build is coming up get one of the sata 3 ones.

think i will go with intel there isnt much diference in terms of performance using sata 2 when comparing vertex 3 and the 320 series. the price of the vertex 3 seems to be goin up at the moment this just putting me off them.
