Feeding children meat is child abuse

For god sake...

Dear PITA

MODERATION IS THE KEY TO NOT BEING A LARD ASS

Love from

Me
Exactly!

Eating meat isn't child abuse, allowing your kids to stuff themselves to obesity is. IE: Over feeding/overeating and living off Maccy D's.

These fools haven't got a bloody cue have they.

It just makes the group PETA look stupid, and so weakening any effect their group my have.

I completely agree, showing maked chicks saying they won't wear fur improves their image. This makes them look ridiculous.
Wonder if the ASA have ahd any complaints as I feel their message is completely ridiculous, and unsubstantiated.

Yes, and evolution has meant that now with food in relative abundance we are designed to eat each day, unless you happen to belong to one of the genetic 'fatass' phenotypes. Starving oneself to try to cling to our old genetic line will cause signifanctly more issues for the population that a moderate diet and regular normal meals.

no we're not designed for it, we're now just dependent on it an it does cause problems, and it will for a long time till we fully adapt (a long way off yet).

Well the basis for his hyothesis is rather interesting to say the least.
'The problem is to understand how a phenotype with such negative effects may have been favoured by the process of natural selection. '

Why would it be?
Modern diet, modern man, modern living, modern agriculture and modern medicine especially specifically select against 'natural selection'. Everything we do to improve 'mankind' is against natural selection and to defeat it in some way. Our genetic selection as a species is now exceptionally limited, those who would have died in childbirth are saved, as are most neonates, and continuing on throughtout development even down to social security providing for and enabling life in those who would died off with laziness, disbaility or inability to work.

Natural selection isn't just about living for a long time it's about reproducing so Sexual selection plays a very big part.

lazy chavs who never work but all have 5 kids at 15 and die in their late twenties for example is evolutionarily a good thing.

Evidently not eating meat makes you mental.

Who knows?
About 19 years ago my Brother In Law (Professor at Liverpool Uni) and Sister In Law (2 degrees and a Masters) were having their first child.
To cut a long story short it was apparent something wasn't quite right with him and during visits all the cousins would be eating chocolates/sweets while he was in a corner eating celery.
A few months passed and we had to advice them to take him to the Doctors because there was something wrong with him.
The doctor began his questions and then got on to his diet.
The crazy ******** had been feeding him the same stuff that they eat and they were Vegans.
The Doctor told them to feed him properly which they agreed to and to bring him back weekly.
He told them if they failed he would call Social Services.
He's about 19 now and he's very clever (he's at Uni) but he still isn't quite right.
He has 3 younger sisters who were all fed proper food and they even go to McDonalds now and then, oh and the parents also became meat eaters at the same time as their son.

Funny how the poster shows the kid eating a burger, which is far more likely to be unhealthy than, say, a grilled steak or sushi.

I think the vast majority of kids will eat far more burgers than steak or sushi. The poster would be accurate if it said 'only meat'.

LOL they're apparently worried about childhood obesity and yet they chose to use a podgy woman complete with double chin as their spokesperson in that clip. Slightly ironic that someone who looks like that has the audacity to talk about healthy eating.

If you didn't eat regularly each day, your blood-sugar would yoyo, causing glucose intolerance over time and eventually you would contract type 2 diabetes.

Fasting is good for you in gives your pancreas a rest and increases insulin sensitivity so your body uses glucose more efficiently. It's the same as exercise.

Trans-fats, sure, but it's not hard to avoid those (without googling I can't even think of a source that I can buy...).
:)

How about snickers bars they are full of trans fat

Sat fats are bad for you in high quantities ;)

anything in moderation is fine

Completely wrong! natural saturated fats from animal fats, butter and coconut oil etc are extremely nourishing, we can, and should eat them in high quantities.

You need to get your nose out of the mainstream media and start doing your own research on saturated fats, eventually it will dawn on you that we've been misled for decades with regards to sat fats and their purported health causing problems.

GOD i get so p***ed off with People saying uncategorically that I AM WRONG

saturated fat can cause high colestarol HIGH build up in the artaries and cause heart attacks and strokes IMFO

My wife has JUST been diagnosed with HIGH colestarol and told to CHANGE her diet

Saturated fats and trans fats are ‘bad’ as they can raise blood cholesterol levels
Unsaturated fats are ‘good’ as they can help keep your heart healthy: they’re divided into monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats

I KNOW MY FACTS SO STOP JUMPING ON ME IF YOU DISSAGREE you could be polite and say i dissagree because!! NOT " YOUR WRONG and You need to get your nose out of the mainstream media and start doing your own research on saturated fats, AS I HAVE THANK YOU VERY ******* MUCH

EDIT: Saturated fats are found in fatty meats, butter, cheese and full-fat milk, cakes, pastries, some savoury snack foods, some sweets snacks and chocolate
Trans fats are mainly found in processed foods such as commercially made cakes and pastries, fried fast foods AND SHOULD NOT BE EATEN IN GREAT QUANTATIES (THIS IS IN MY OPINION)

I will take expert advice from expert sites and the docctors themself over anyone who just thinks they know what they are talking about

I think I was fed meat intravenously as a child as I can't live without it now! :D On a serious note, owing to a French and Cypriot (and English) background, meat was always going to be an important part of my diet - as soon as I was old enough to chew on it I think there was no turning back! :D

This is another one of those "fads". They said eggs were bad for you, then they retracted their statements. Sure there's a dichotomy with regards to red meat and saturated fats - but to be honest if you have a well balanced idet it's not really an issue. Saturated fats are actually critical to healthy lifestyles, it's just the right ones - the dichotomy comes into play here as it helps positively boost hormone levels, but it can also create health problems if the balance isn't well managed.

All trans fats are bad, not all sat fats are bad, mono and poly fats are good.
