Depends what sort of use it's going to get, but for light use and to tick the box i'd love an E-type to run around in, then when you've finished driving it you can sit back and admire it.
*total outside the box idea i know.
I was thinking that what about a 6 series though?
Before anyone suggests it i dont want a 996 bottom of the barrel.
Cant drive it every day, no air con, be honest they are ropey to drive.
The usage, well when its sunny il drive it with the roof off.
I've no idea if they are any good or in budget but what about a convertible Jag XK?

If you have no idea if they are either any good or in budget I do wonder why you feel in a position to suggest one, mind. He is asking for a recommendation, not us to shout out random car names.

It does everything. It is supremely well made. It wafts perfectly with it's brilliant autobox and fanastic V8 engine. It looks like its worth much more than it costs, it has a timeless design, it's the definitive convertible GT car.
Take it you wouldnt want another Maserati?
If so 4200 Spyder, engine would sound simply epic with no roof.
Was just a thought, and odd for him to not mention it considering he's had 2 (Coupe's) so obviously likes them and isn't bothered by the age and may prefer something like that if it's only for 6 months.
Silly running costs, most of them engine related i take it?
