Opera 11 final has been released...

Opera 11.01 snapshot released.

http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2011/01/07/opera-11-01-snapshot

This is a snapshot of Opera 11.01, a possible future minor/bugfix release for Opera 11.

In addition to mouse gesture fixes and various other things, we have also looked at the top crashers in Opera 11, and several of them have been fixed in this snapshot.

Although this is a minor/bugfix release, you may notice that there are more Core fixes in this build than you might expect. This is due to our development model at Opera, where we often receive batches of fixes from the Core team that have been tested, and are ready for public consumption. Since the batch of fixes contains important bug fixes, we receive other fixes as well as a "bonus". We also get to test these fixes in public.

Really enjoying Opera 11 althought it does crash more than V10 but just growing pains I guess and they will sort it out.

+1 on the tab-stacking. If they made a way to save stacks as a session that would be great.

My Opera 11 (build 1156) on the XP Pro laptop has been running rock stable so far, and I use it extensively daily. I also installed 11 on my Win 7 desktop yesterday, and it has been working fine. It's the best Opera yet IMHO (opera user for the last 10 years).

Oh yes, tab stacking is the best feature in a browser since Opera invented tabbed browsing. Now just wait for other browsers to steal this idea and pass it off as their great achievement :P

Oh you have got to be kidding me!

For years and many versions of Opera I had issues with running flash videos in it. The video (not sound) would stutter regularly, irrespective of anything I did, any version of Opera or Flash I used.

It disappeared a few versions back but now after installing 11.01 with Flash 10.1.102.64 it has rather annoyingly returned.

So Opera 11.10 "Barracuda" is announced and a beta released.

Is anyone getting problems with Flash videos in Opera 11.01 on say the BBC News site with Flash 10.2? Ever since I updated Flash if I open a page on BBC News/Sports then Opera's CPU usage goes to 25% and scrolling pages, even if its not the page with the video, becomes incredibly jerky. This only happened with Flash 10.2 so I wanted to see if it was an Opera + Flash 10.2 problem or just Flash 10.2 affecting all browsers. I've just tested Firefox and its similar but not as bad.

And another problem! Ever since Google did this Google Instant thing I can't go back to the Google page if I've loaded up a page linked to by Google. I have to re-search the term I was googling. Then if I turn off Google Instant its fine but then it happens again. I don't understand why this is happening as Google is set to save cookies on my machine but Google/Opera keeps resetting my Google Instant preference. :( Any ideas?

The BBC site is my home page and I have not found any issues with their videos playing on there and a new install of Opera 11.10 Alpha. When I have the previous 11.01 installed that also was fine. Flash 10.2 is what I have installed.

As for the Google issue....

Google Instant is not available for your web browser.
Please upgrade to the latest version of a modern browser to use Google Instant.

You lucky so and so! :D

For those other four or so Opera users just a heads up about 11.10 beta which has just been released...
Haha! :D There's THAT many of us here?!:p

I had a quick look at an earlier build, they've worked on the Speed Dial. It looked rubbish. I had two rows of 6 I think but I couldn't stop Opera showing a blank one on the next line. It looked well naff.

Might give the beta a go and see if they've perfected mind reading yet. ;)

See my thread HERE:

Currently running a preview build of 11.50 with no problems.
It has GPU hardware acceleration build in, just like IE9 and FF4, unlike V11.0/1.

Its fast....very fast.
**** off a shovel comes to mind :)

I think im lucky in that I've had no issues....
some have.

Try it, see what you think.
Opera rocks, and I dont want to change my browser..it thinks the same way I do :)

\o/ it seems to have fixed my biggest minor annoyance! It used to occasionally have a different menu show up on right click depending on how you selected some text.

Looking forward to giving it a proper once over.
