£80 to fill up!

$34 (£22) to fill my tank with LPG which gets me about 270 miles. It costs roughly twice as much to run on petrol, which apparently is incredibly expensive for Australia (Petrol is roughly $1.40, LPG is roughly $0.60) at the moment. I can't believe how expensive fuel has become back home - quite happy that I'm here at the moment!

I'm considering taking the bus to work. Would save ~ $150 per month on parking and petrol. Never mind car maintenance etc.

Currently paying around $60 every 2.5 weeks.

£60 for a 45 litre 1.1 Saxo. Get on average 450 miles.

Im a student and ive averaged 10k miles for the past 3 years, I really dont know where all the miles come from :P

About £60-70 to fill up my SLK. I only manage about 25mpg on average. Luckily I don't do more than 3-4000 miles a year :) - next year I will be working further away, so it will be much worse :(

I am now using 2-3 tanks a week at ~£75 per tank!

My van is only a 1.3 TD but I've no idea what Fiat "tuned" it for as it's neither powerful or economic. Average 38-39mpg with mainly motorway miles!

Last nights fill up £92. Expected to last about 600 miles. Time to accept that the days of cheapish fuel are gone. Changing job last year has knocked 18k miles per year off my driving so at least its a bit of a saving!

My Mondeo costs me £82 to fill. I commute 110 miles per day and depending on how I drive I can get an indicated 55mpg. This will last me 1 week. Takes me an 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours each way on average.

If I were take the train it would take 2 1/2 hours, cost me £30 a day and based on an average of 22 days a month at work cost me £660.

I have 3 options...

1) Man Up
2) Move closer
3) find another job

so far it's option 1, and we are looking at option 2. If we move closer we stand to save £250 a month at least just on fuel alone...

sounds broken? The Fiesta derived Van in cheap and economical for an alternative no idea on budget or size requirement but 1.3 sounds like a small van)

I've got one of them but with the BIG engine. Can get it down to single figures:D

Interesting, I get those petrol prices emails quite regularly.

06/01/2009 - 87.9p
04/01/2010 - 110.9p
10/01/2011 - 127.9p
12/04/2011 - 135.9p

Quite shocking when you look at it like that.
