Design/Logo Help Please!

Stupot I'm chuffed. I half hoped someone would sweeten it up, and it's looking fantastic with the plaque/shield and crispy lines. Fine work sir!

I only have Photoshop CS2... Gutted. I just want to fix the S up a little :p

That squirrel looks hench and ******* mean. Did he steal that S?

He's ready. And I'm not sure. It could be some sort of squirrel scythe...

I'll try and get something you can work on in Photoshop when I get back on monday, must be a way of exporting all the paths:)

Wow, honestly didn't expect that at all!

To me, the arm and paw look a little funny/off, but aside from that it's completely blown out my expectations already.

Thank you.

If you guys are still happy to work on this, I'm more than willing to see what you do next! :p

And yeah, that squirrel is looking ****ing hench! :p

Just had a comment from a friend who asked me to look into this:

Me: Any comments to pass on?

Him: Just loosen up on the steroids that things taken lol.

Take that as what you will. :p

Could/Shall change the curve of his back to loosen up the muscles and rotate his bicep line counter clockwise (sense?). And I agree on the claw Nix. I generall fail at any form of hand / foot / claw.

... He's gotta be mean though, surely?!

Nix, I'm more than happy to work on it more... Provided you post a picture or two of the printed product! Also, what method of printing are you going for? I finished a t shirt design with a friend this evening. I haven't done my research on print types and prices etc yet... :p

Thanks for the comments as well all!

Stupot_ - I'll try and find something. I'm sure Adobe have foreseen such a predicament!

Thinking we're getting it all done through that prosoccer website mate. It's either a print or an embroidery jobby, but have to speak to the other lads at the weekend. Haven't even decided on a kit or colour yet. :p

If you're alright with working on it mate, I'm happy to step back and let you crack on. Don't want to twist your arm or anything and you know... too many chefs and all that.

Definitely will post up any finished product, it would be incredibly rude not to.

I agree with the mean thing, but seeing as I'm not the only one forking up money, I can't really fight it!

Just go for whatever you think will work/look good.

EDIT:

I'm just wondering: would thicker black lines around the squirrel's definition improve it? /noob

I think it would:) Especially if it will be embroidered, in which case it could do with losing a lot of the detail.

Crofty, what do you use for colouring your sketches? Been after some of those Copic/Letraset markers but they're hella expensive.

Looks like photoshop to me:) However, if you're after some markers the copic ones are awesome.

I have the copic classic markers, set A. They last absolutely ages, can be refilled cheaply, nibs replaced, etc etc, they're basically markers for life:D

You can also do cool stuff like buy empty pens and mix ink to make your own colours!

If you use them on layout paper they give excellent coverage, you don't get any streaks at all.

Some of my friends have letraset markers and they seem inferior to me, some have had pens dry out.

Another nice thing about the copics is they self clean, I can really much up a light coloured nib with a darker colour, and after a few strokes on paper it is clean again.

Basically, get them! You won't regret it. They smell nice too.

I've only got one example online at the mo and it's not a great one. 3rd image in http://www.stuartcuss.co.uk/project/hilsea-lido/

Ahh, I'd imagine they cater to a much different market than what we're after! Surely the orange and black? If not... We could try a pink squirrel, with a baby blue strip? :p

I'll have a little dabble and post up progress. Anyone can add anything as far as I'm concerned though. I'll just cut his steroids and trim the claws! I think we could incorporate some of Tank's idea as well. It has potential(& Whiskers)

I just collated my data and it seems that File -> Export is the answer to working on it in Photoshop. If anybody has Illustrator and fancies doing this, I'll provide a cookie :)

Skippi - Stupot on point. I took a photo on my phone and used a layer mode / opacity setting, ha. If it's a T shirt design, then it's going through a scanner and then onto Multiply layer mode.

Here's one with the scanner technique... (My friend's (immense)line work & a bit of Photoshoppery)

Just throwing this one out there for your muse Crofty:

How about making the 'S' out of the tail itself?

Sorry I can't help at the mo! You can download a trial version of illustrator which will last for 30 days, just go to the adobe website:)

i was messing with some kind of mozilla firefox style but too tired bed time :p

great work though guys.

You stay here and work!

@stupot - I may just do this. I'll want to buy it if I trial it though... =/

@Nix - I shall try to sit down and have a proper draw. The original sketch was the first thing I put down after reading post #1, I wasn't expecting such a development! There'll be tails and S's all over the place!

I've been searching the net but not having much luck.

Are there any designers/artists out there who could create a sports/college-cartoon logo of a squirrel?

Something along the lines of/mixture between:

Some more examples:

I'm not holding out much hope, but thought I'd try all the same.

Thanks in advance? :p

i can do it for you if you give me a few days :)

backlogged with other works :(
