Skyward Sword? I'm thinking the same, unless this new console is still a year or two off. It'd be a hard sell for Nindy to push a game they'll want to sell huge numbers of on an "obsolete" console, at the same time as building hype for a new one.

If it is the HD powerhouse they claim, hopefully it'll kick Sony and Microsoft into gear trying to get their consoles ready for release (hopefully without rushing). The head start the 360 had over the PS3 made it far more dominant early on this generation as far as sales went.
 
While I really look forward to seeing the details at E3....

Nintendo does not satisfy my gaming needs as much as Microsoft and Sony do now. I like the Wii, but I look how often I play my Wii compared to my Xbox & PS3....... it just doesn't compare at all. Games like Gears of War, Demon Souls, Halo, Killzone etc dont seem to have the same playability as on the Wii, the motion controls are frankly a nice to have than a need to have.

If this console will have the same gaming experience as the Xbox & PS3, with the great head start Nintendo have on Motion controls, then I may be interested..... they just need to get some good 'mature' titles..... though saying that, im sure Resident Evil on the next gen nintendo console will be awesome, as will any Zelda game they bring out in full 1080P.
 
Hooray!

I'm very excited. I'm a huge Nintendo Fanboy and jumped on the Wii Bandwagon at first opurtunity, only to find that the bandwagon was heading straight of a cliff. Hopefully this means Nintendo have found and repaired said bandwagon, given it a new set of rims and an engine and set it of again, if I may stretch that analogy unecessarily too far.
 
Good news if true, I have always liked the innovation and originality of Nintendo based games but just cannot bear to play in any less than HD nowadays.

What kind of a question is this? It hasn't been officially announced, this is a RUMOR!

It probably won't be released for a few years yet, 2-3.
 
Hang on, what happened to the Wii 2 with built-in projector? Only found out about that one a month ago. I quite liked the sound of that

architecture is very similar to the Xbox 360; the Café is more powerful than the 360

Considering how much experience western devs have with the 360, this can only mean good thing for 3rd party support.

And Nintendo didn't? The last SEGA console was the Dreamcast, Nintendo had the Gamecube back then?

Granted the Wii has been much more popular but at that point SEGA had moved out of the console business by then, Nintendo got through it from their handheld sales.

Perhaps I'm wrong here but thats the impression I have.

They have not failed, unless you count failing the Nintendo Fanboys like me.

I seriously hope they turn it around, and cater for everyone now. they certainly have the experience, knowledge and the market to do so.
 
Sega have failed in the console business. That's a point of fact, as the Dreamcast didn't fare brilliantly their console arm is long disbanded. Nintendo have produced two incredibly high selling consoles of late, and are at no risk of going out of business as they are consistently profit making without relying on other profitable arms.

You are misinformed. With the gamecube alone Nintendo made a healthy profit. They never sell hardware at a loss unlike everyone else.
