I have been listening a lot to The Beatles recently and I'm really digging discovering gems I never knew about. Today I tried making a list of my favourites and I struggled to narrow it to under 40

Anyway, I thought I'd post some of my favourites for you to consider. Give them a listen if you were never a fan or haven't heard these songs:

Have a band ever been this diverse? Just amazing :D

What do you guys think?

I love The Beatles.

I'd have to say Abbey Road is their best record. Not a commonly held opinion, I know, but it's true!

Abbey Road seems a bit hit and miss for me. I think it's because I don't get on with Come Together which opens it... also I still can't figure out if I like 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)'.

If I had to pick one... I'd probably go for the white album, but I really like their earlier rock n roll style numbers :)

Won't take long for the beatles haters to come along, so i'll say it quick - Best band ever by a mile:D

You should go to Liverpool Nitefly, you'd love it.

Have a coffee in starbucks whilst visiting the beatles shop (starbucks is in the shop), then pop next door to the museum, walk around Liverpool and find somewhere to have dinner, before heading out to matthew street, visit the cavern and just chill all night listening to Beatles classics:D

I've been listening to Abbey Road a fair bit today and the only bit I'm not keen on now is mean mr. mustard, which just seems a bit out of place. Otherwise, great album :)

It's on my to do list :)

I assume you are an oasis fan too?
Oasis are a bit hit and miss for me. I really liked what's the story morning glory and bought definitely maybe as a result... but I couldn't get on with it.

Oasis, Arctic Monkeys? Hate em both.

Although I love Abbey Road I honestly believe that Maxwell's Silver Hammer is one of the worst songs ever written.

But the reasons I love Abbey Road are two fold -

1) It's their most straight up rock record by a good long way
and 2) that suite of songs on the second half is just one of the greatest Beatles moments.

Agree 100%, to the point I don't listen to abbey road on the iPod as it's always on shuffle and that album needs to be heard in order.

As for favourite album, toss up between revolver and White album for me. As stated tho, such diversity from a band.

I love rediscovering them every so often.

Helter Skelter is one of my favourite Beatles tracks. My favourite would have to be Mean Mr Mustard. The well-known, popular Beatles tracks are brilliant but if you look deeper there are some hidden gems!

Revolver for me.

I kinda prefer their earlier songs, but later albums

Favourite Albums are Revolver and Abbey Road.

Favourite songs are Help, She Loves You and Here Comes The Sun.

I recently saw a local band do a cover of Helter Skelter and it was quite good. Reminded me of what a great song it is.

Pretty much all their albums have a song that seems out of place to me, for some reason.

Revolver- Yellow Submarine
Let it Be- Maggie Mae
Abbey Road- Mean Mr Mustard
Sgt Pepper's- When I'm Sixty-Four
White Album- Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Rubber Soul- I'm Looking Through You
Can't think of any others.

All song that i skip.

Mostly Paul McCartney songs tbh.:)

Help was up there as well hard days knight. just 4 lads living the dream and realising it. Later on they still made good music but they started to think they were untouchable.

Either way great band and all the Albums were fantastic with the exception of maybe the white album. As they were to bothered with that indian dude weren't they ?
