Cornwall in June

Mevagissey or St.Ives is a lovely place to stay.

Don't come to Perranporth whatever you do! It's busy enough already!

Already plastered my car with the Kernow flag!

And there was me going to suggest somewhere round Perranporth...:p

The town and beach itself are meh (sorry;)) but the rest of the coastline is beautiful. Personally the further west you go in Cornwall the better (until you hit Lands End which is a dump!).

Stay away from St. Ives as a place to stay, it's always rammed with tourists, go for a day trip sure though.

I wish tourists didn't come down in droves like they do. But i can't complain. They pay the bills. I like Perranporth but only in the winter and off peak seasons, totally different place then.

Falmouth is always very quiet around peak summer/holiday times.

On the note of chippies, it's all about Pickwicks in Perranporth. Only go off peak though.

TBH if you're going to st Ives, take the train from St Earth
or from truro to st erth then st ives (not sure if it's still cheaper to do that)
costs the same as parking and is nice views

I was working down St ives yesterday a very nice place,Richard Hammond was also there in his brand new VW orange camper van.

There is a lovely beach one of the best in the country.

My family bought a Donkey field opposite the village hall about 30 years ago, and built a Bungalow on it, which was used as a holiday place, Then my mother retired to this place 10 years ago and had it the property extended with her new husband(Northfield), the bungalow is called TREVETH.

I have a home in Weston.

The only house i can think of with a big conservatory on it is down at fishermans cove directly opposite the pub.

That's the one. Gorgeous views over the bay. We used to go there a lot when i was a kid. My uncle and cousins have a business making concrete blocks from the shingle on the beach. It's been too long since i was last home.

Ok just had a macs fish and chips, that's much more like it, very nice.

Im now officially bloated.

There will be some of those blocks in the core of our bungalow, I am absolutely positive that thats where they got most of the blocks from.

junes a good month to go ,we are having 3 weeks in may/june before all the kids break up . we are based in st agnes ,its amazing for the surf as when chapel porth and porthtowon are maxed out i can go down trevuance cove. we walk from there to perrenporth ,stopping off at the areodrome for a cheese sandwich ,also to holywell and crantock but tend not to venture into newquay. walking south we go to porthtowon and portreath ,sometimes up to tehidy park.
tbh i think we have walked and been to every place from bude to falmouth cant go too wrong anywhere ,quite like redruth ! shop at tesco there and go round the charity shops.
we go to a tropical plant garden centre place nr penzance so we tend to park up there and maybe have a walk to st michaels mount or last time we went inland to st ives.
roll on royal wedding ,thats when we have our first week:)

You go to Chapel Porth and you didn't mention the INFAMOUS Hedgehog Icecream!?

ah yes the hedgehog icecream ,plus their salad sandwiches with cheese and mayo are amazing ,was a bit shocked when it burnt down that time.
love to slob out on the top rock used in blue juice drinking coffee

(to people who dont know blue juice is a brit surf movie with ewan mccgreggor and cathrine zeta jones)

Crackington is lovely place to stay, we stayed at a place called the Old Cider Press, which is up one of the hills (ha) just past Crackington Haven. Not that far away from Bude, which as already said - a nice place to stay/be.

Also got good memories of Crantock Beach; although we went in March, in a caravan, with the rain and the wind hitting the caravan. St Michaels' Mount was a good day out, too, along with St Ives, Penzance and Lands End.

Hardy's exotics? if so used to live up that lane.

I've walked the whole coast in Cornwall, have to say the bit between Penzance and St Ives was the most scenic. That said, most of our coastline is awesome for walking.

As has already been said, the branch line between St Ives and St Erth is awesome. It's a line that follows the tops of the cliffs, and is quite unnerving at times!
