Hi,

To cut a long story short, I am currently running a HX850 PSU and 3 GTX 570's, do not ask how this came to be lol. To get the system to run without crashes I have had to underclock my GPU's from 786mhz to 550mhz

Now my question is, which PSU would be better suited to the job? A Performance/Price ratio applies here. I have had a wattage meter on the plug that is powering the PC and with a second 500w PSU to run the 3rd card, running the cards at stock and the CPU at 4.6ghz the system was drawing around 900w altogether.#

The system is currently rock solid with GPU's under clocked and the CPU at stock but of course I want them back to normal lol.

HX1000:

AX1200:

I am open to alternative suggestions but the PSU would need to look good in my FT02 with the hardware that is in my sig as it is clearly visible.

Thanks.

I guess the AX would be uber safe, it's also the best of the best, so I'd probably go with that considering the other high end parts you've got

This is a good PSU but is it worth the extra £35 or so for an extra 50w and only a 3 year warrantee?

Dont really know, but it is a complete animal of a PSU from the reviews around (and going by reviews of lesser watt models)

One last thing to maybe consider is where you would have to send the unit for RMA after the initial warranty period runs out at OCUK or wherever you buy from, postage of such a large heavy unit could cost loads if it needs to go over seas.

This in mind most resellers only give it one year before you need to ship it back to the manufacturer anyway. I think for the 7 years vs 3 or 5 that the others offer, I don't mind the extra cost of shipping it (if it came to it that is).

I think its going to have to be the AX1200 then. For the warantee/price/performance it is the best value for money (Technically speaking) :)

Ironically the Antec high current pro 1200w has just appeared on the members market, brand new still in cellophane for £160
