Anyway me being an alcoholic and an arse aside who thinks it right i should put a deposit on a car they aint bought yet?

Come on Maz, make that right?

A dealer isn't going to buy a car in for a customer without a deposit, why would they? What happens if you change your mind?

The dealer is left with a £100k piece of depreciating metal which they probably paid over the odds for because they had it placed.

The seller has changed his mind, he wants his car more than he wants your money.

Yeah I don't know what I'm talking about, by not selling you a car through no fault of their own they're gonna go bust.

I'm sure you know a dozen Bentley buyers, I never said you didn't.

I've sold £100k + cars before, most of the people who buy these cars are not the unreasonable type.

And a dealer of a brand who are in good demand aren't going to bend over backwards to please unreasonable folk.

No they aint going to go bust, but this is not the way to conduct business. Nor is is the i dont give a monkeys phone call i got today.

And yes this is their fault 110% if the car is physically not on the premises bought, dont start selling it to people.

Mate i gave them 50k when they said this car was in their hands, im looking at the other cheque for 49,999 right here in front of me.

This a Bentley main dealer dealer with a 500k customer, not back street ****ing Bobby who needs to sell one to buy one, are we not on the same page?

You asked them to find you one!? So they weren't trying to cold sell you a car they don't own!

Sure different situation if you asked to buy a car on their forecourt and told that you couldn't have it, but you asked to find you one so they were brokering this deal.

Go in, find out the full story and be reasonable.

Obviously if they're blatantly taking the **** then complain.

But I'd imagine it's something outside the dealers control.

I know exactly whats happened over the course of this weekend the man selling has found a better buyer than part exing or the dealer has found a better punter paying more than me, thats it there is no plan c and this is the 2nd time this has happened to me in 6 months.

If they haven't got the car they haven't got the car whether you've got half a million sat in your bank or having to part ex a car.

Unfortunately monies not everything in this world and won't get you everything!!!

Bentley dealers don't buy cars willy nilly! They have a stocking budget and capacity and wont buy a specific car for a customer without a deposit.

What part of this situation don't you understand?

You missed the point sorry i wasnt clear, what i mean is i have history with this company worth 500k so when i say i want a car they can rest assured i do actually want one.

The part i dont understand is this, when a tried and trusted customer wants to buy a car they come out with a load of horse ****, what bit of that are you not clear on?

Anyway **** it we are obviously not going to agree on this, i feel i have been badly done to, you can take their side and sleep good tonight, good night Maz.

my thoughts "its only a car at the end of the day and if it was meant to be you would have it"

im sure another one will come along soon and you will look back at this thread and chuckle.

See if this would me in your position Mark I would be unhappy too, but I expect to an extent any car dealer (heck, anyone dealing with the public in some type of customer service role) is not going to respect someone with an attitude trying to make a scene.

I work in a job where I get sworn at and abused fairly frequently, people kicking off and having a pop at someone for effect and because it makes them feel better, but I find my level of care or desire to help someone who behaves in such an obnoxious way goes through the floor whenever I encounter such behaviour...

At the end of the day you want a car, they may be in a position to provide exactly what you ask, that perfect car, and whilst going and having a rant may make you feel better in the short term, will it get you any closer to the car that you want?

A firm request to speak to the dealer principal about the poor communication and how you were let down, sure, but going in and acting the big man and shouting at some receptionist is going to make you look like a jerk and isn't going to get you any closer to what you want.
