Another let down

See if this would me in your position Mark I would be unhappy too, but I expect to an extent any car dealer (heck, anyone dealing with the public in some type of customer service role) is not going to respect someone with an attitude trying to make a scene.

I work in a job where I get sworn at and abused fairly frequently, people kicking off and having a pop at someone for effect and because it makes them feel better, but I find my level of care or desire to help someone who behaves in such an obnoxious way goes through the floor whenever I encounter such behaviour...

At the end of the day you want a car, they may be in a position to provide exactly what you ask, that perfect car, and whilst going and having a rant may make you feel better in the short term, will it get you any closer to the car that you want?

A firm request to speak to the dealer principal about the poor communication and how you were let down, sure, but going in and acting the big man and shouting at some receptionist is going to make you look like a jerk.

Mate im not going in shouting at any receptionist, you mistake me for a ****. Im going in there tomorrow to shout at the ***** that has been telling me a pack of lies for the last week.

Joshy you done a PDI on a black / black / black speed this week? I thought not because the **** telling me lies hasnt had his hands on it all week.

I have a better question, how can a dealer know that everything is kosher with the car if they don't have it physically yet to give it a fuller than full inspection?

I can see it from both sides. Fair enough that they were brokering a deal between the buyer and the seller and to an extent it is out of their hands but I don't understand why you'd ask for a substantial deposit from a buyer but still leave the seller enough rope to choke the deal to death when he got cold feet.

I don't don't buy the 'Putting it into stock would be a disaster' argument much either. You're not exactly going to struggle to sell a late Black on Black on Black speed. And I'd imagine that there is a nice margin between what the seller is going to take and what a buyer is looking to pay. If there wasn't sure they wouldn't want to be at the table brokering the deal?

Well he says he wants a black one but it shows there's a few about that are actually in stock!

I know, I just prefer the other colour combination :)

Although, there are tonnes on pistonheads and autotrader in full black, however do understand where Mark is coming from.

But going mental on them won't get you the car.

Dont confuse common sense with greed Joshy son, i know whats happened here and its not been a case of mistake, if it was id not have started this stupid thread moaning.

Fair point.

How can they also not contact a customer until the day AFTER it was due to be delivered?

I'd be fuming too, you pay a premium, you expect a premium service!

What colour would you have out of curiosity :)

Because you pay the seller more to get them to sell than you would for stock because you can sell it immediately, if you're buying for stock you buy them cheaper because you have to factor in that it might take you 6 months to sell that particular car.

No back seats, thats a super sport not a speed, also those front seats are absolutely horrible to sit in.

My bad, sorry.

Although I do understand you, just going mental won't get you the car.

I imagine it's been bought, PDIed and serviced through the dealer and has probably racked up very low mileage so it is unlikely to be falling apart. It'd surprise me if it didn't go through the workshop for a check (and replacement of anything wrong under warranty) before getting to the customer but I've not knowingly come across one of these 'brokered' deals before.

It wouldn't have been me doing a PDI/T&R, but I'm sure I've come across a car matching your description, but saying that it is a fairly common combo and I honestly I wouldn't know for sure without a chassis no. What I can do is tell you tomorrow if there's a black/black/black 'sales' car on site but I wouldn't be able to confirm or deny that it was your car for certain (You'd have to draw your own conclusion).

This **** is probably going to get me the sack :p.

Nah it dont matter now but if you see a 2010 black paint black leather black wood black wheels with 13k miles let us know :D

Nice car DM, love the bently and black/black/black is surely the colour of choice?

If i was struggling to part with the best part of 100k I would be anoyed, jesus I got anoyed when I couldn't get anybody from bt to sell me boradband on a second line after 5 hours on the phone. If I were parting with 100k I would be expecting the recipient to be prepared to wipe my arse if I asked him to.
