Fett/DM SL owners? Front/rear battery conditioning.

Yeah same as that in this. Ive got the part wood wheel (similar to the one in my s-class) which i love too which was a bonus. They look far better in real life than pics seem to make out i reccon :)

Edit: one thing to note about mine is that the price i paid was due to a few things, it needs 2 front tyres and a service B, and also needed a ruddy good clean. The service and front tyres will be the best part of 3 grand if i want to keep the main dealer on it. So that (serviced and ready to go) makes it more like a 16-17k deal i guess if i do that. Still good value for a freshly serviced one with what will be 4 new tyres.

**** the dealer history, make that a 1800 quid job at an indy mate.

Give me that wheel, they have grown on me a bit recently :)

 :) Thats the car. He said it was going on autotrader. Wonder when that came on. Saves me taking some pics for the mo, mind you its bloody filthy there.

I wonder what Fett does with his, he has had it for quite a while so should be in a good position to answer.

Get the Ctek, definitely. Week, week and half without a drive and you'll be greeted with "Consumer Electrics Offline" warning, there's a hell of a draw somewhere, not sure if it's my alarm or tracker but after the third time I purchased a new back battery and I don't fancy seeing how long it will last without the Ctek. The car will start but no roof, sat nav etc until it charges again. It'll probably be an old Varta in there, so after a few cycles without a conditioner, it'll give up the ghost.

Nothing he will take it as it comes, but not a lot, they are reliable.

Think i've had mine for three years. I needed a new roof switch and battery and a new park interlocking mechanism, so not bad. The park release/pawl is a big job, so if you ever feel the shift start to get a bit sticky, get it seen straight away, once it goes (without warning on mine), you are stuck until MB sort it, or you hacksaw your lever off to remove the release mechanism. Warranty covered mine.

Yeah '04 500 7G.

Nice, enjoy.

Where's your seat ventilation?

Pauper.

Even cheaper than mine, that was a bargain, shame you ended up with the same leather as me i hate grey.

But since getting the old Glyptone out mine has come up a treat.

Yeah i might get the specialist on it, same people who do my s-class. Good bunch who know these big mercs inside out - star motor services in Reading.

I should attach it to the rear battery then you think? I have a ctek conditioner so will get it right on there if thats the right one. Luckily it seems to have new batteries so it should be good for a while yet. This has a tracker too so maybe there will be that same drain. :)

I know all about the P-release mechanism, all of these big mercs suffer, s-class, cl-class etc. Total PITA i hear when it does go and obviously neither of mine are warranted.

Yes, the rear battery.

Re: the parking pawl, I didn't know about it so it came as a nice suprise. In Hull.

:( gutted! Give me your wheels!

£4k sounds fair. Paypal please, you sweaty-backed peasant.

And i thought we were mates, how much for my halfords in part ex :D

Congrats Jez:) To be fair, the seat ventilation, whilst good in theory is kinda like someone breathing onto your back from 10 feet away:p
