***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Would anyone care to Grinder my Bspec drivers? I'm in need of some money! Will return the favour.

I'm just setting up the grinder widget. Add me as a friend, and it will use your drivers.

My PSN ID is Chipworth

If anyone else wants to add me, feel free, I will run the widget as much as I can, and would appreciate it if others used my drivers :D

I've added a couple of people, but the gt5 website, and the widget can't see people who have been recently added to my friend list. Anyone know how to solve this?

As soon as it can see people, i'll be running races.

Log out of PSN on everything, reboot the PS3 and it should be fine. Sometimes takes a day or so on the website.

So whats the general consensus on picking a B-Spec driver? I chose a cool character but hes awfully slow when out infront. Thought it would be a case of once hes in front set the controller down and make a cup of tea while he romps to victory, but sadly not...

Slightly hot-headed IMO

How did people go about doing the 24hr A-spec events?

6hrs a day? or full blown 24 hours non-stop?

I recently got level 35 on a-spec and am ooh'ing and aah'ing about this. B-spec has been fine, pick driver and go to bed - check it the next day.

Also beat seb vettel yesterday and got gold in the formula championship :) The Vettel event I felt was slightly too easy to get bronze, took 3 attempts at Monza.

Man I'm stuck on the Vettel challenge. Only tried the first and after a couple of attempts I can complete the 2 laps. Still about 3-5 seconds off bronze time though. Using just the dualshock controller. :(

Was kinda similar when I first began attempting it.

I got to b-spec 35 and gained a X2010 that way - then used it on the Monza endurance race, by the time I finished that I was ready to finish off Monza on the Vettel challenge.

The first 2 Vettel races just took a few practice goes to get use to the car, I felt the track was easier than Monza so I managed to gain bronze fairly easy. Although saying that, after that endurance race in the x2010 I felt Monza was really really easy! Prior to the endurance race I thought man Monza is impossible.

Basically just a little bit of practice to get use to it. The Silver and Gold now feel like a good challenge to master the x2010!

When you say Monza I take it you mean Suzuka? AFAIK there isn't a Monza endurance, however there is the 1000km of Suzuka.

Monza is a piece of pee, especially if you cut the second chicane ;) Suzuka is ok if you get some practice in, I hated Nurburgring, I hate the first corner and the track surfaces where the car ends up bouncing about, it's just hateful :p

Pretty sure in one of the later updates they stopped you leaving the track on the Vettel challenges like a license test - its much more harder now...

ps3ud0

Oh man I got the names mixed up. Monza was cake, I did the 3 in order. Monza is where I learnt how to use the X2010 so by the time I came to Nurburgring I only needed an hour or so to get past that.

It was Suzuka that made me not even bother to attempt as I felt I needed a lot more practice with the X2010 (And managed to gain a lot of exp during the 1k Suzuka endurance race in the X2010). By the time that was finished I felt competant with the X2010 and managed to do it quite quickly.

The bit on Nuburgring where the car bounces threw me off the track a good few times :p

Have a look on youtube to see where you can improve the time, Monza especially has some corners which can be cut to gain time.

I got bronze with a DS3 after a few tries, one thing I needed to adjust to is not to brake too much and carry more speed thru a corner and some corners can be taken flatout when you think it is impossible, also set sensitivity to 7 as it helps a LOT.
ASM/TCS off, ABS to 4 and I used automatic gears.

After deleting my save a few days ago and starting again, I've started to actually enjoy playing it.

Nearly level 20 on the aspec. Wish I could get onlnie to do some more seasonal events, but oh well.

Yeah, they did that one or two major updates ago, you've got more time to complete the challenge now but you can't clip the track edges more than a little or you're immediately disqualified.

Only 58m Cr to go before I have all the buyable cars :D
That carbon X1 will probably be the last one I get, when I eventually get a wheel or something
Ford GT concept will be a difficult one too, it appears to be super rare and costs 1m so I can't even trade for it.

I think it's just called the Ford GT '02, stats are identical to the later cars but for some reason it costs 10 times as much, so I can't trade for it, just have to wait for it to show up.

Still with only about 50m to go I might actually put a different game in the PS3 tonight, for the first time since GT release, particularly seeing as I can't go online
