EA Store - Easter Sale 50% off

how do EA work, do you get a download you can burn to DVD with a key

You download it through their client, similar to Steam. But unlike Steam it is just the regular setup files like if you bought the disc, and you can install it anywhere you want. You can also 'unofficially' back up those installation files so you don't need to download them again. Finally the EA Store client doesn't need to be running when you play your games.

It works pretty well overall.

One negative point versus Steam, not all games will auto patch themselves to the latest version, you still have to do it manually. At least one exception to that is Medal of Honor and there may be others.

It's well worth a fiver. :)

There's only one DLC you should bother with and its called bring down the sky and its free. Not sure where you download it now though but I'm sure a quick search on google will help. The other one isn't very good its called Pinnacle station and this one costs money so don't bother imo.

It doesn't support the 360 pad, you would have use Xpadder or something else.

thanks, is it worth bothering with 1 if youve got 2 though?
ive seen you can just answer some questions at the start of 2 and it builds a profile similar to that if you played 1 through

Its still a very good game, you won't get the same experience just answering the questions. I'm not even sure there is an option like this tbh I think its just a default shepard, the PS3 version had a comic thingy with questions. Might be wrong tho, I transferred a save :p

I think you would find it hard to go back to 1 after playing 2, so I'd recommended playing it first if were going to play both.

You shouldn't miss out on the original it is a great game.

thanks guys, ive just seen the weekend steam deal, rather poor, so i will buy ME1

Yeah, just spotted it over on HoutUKDeals ...

I'm tempted by Crysis 2 and DA2 for £24.98, with a free copy of ME2 thrown in. I already have a DVD copy, I'm guessing I could sell this on with the new serial code?

EDIT: actually, forget DA2 through this, Amazon and Play selling it for £12.99 ...
