Planning to get an SSD as a boot drive in 2 weeks time with hopefully a Z68 board. Thing is, I don't know which one to get! I want something that's reliable with decent read speeds, I'm not really fussed about write speeds. I heard Intel drives are the most reliable?

Crucial M4 64Gb will be priced at just over £100 read speeds over 400MB/s. Reliability is slightly worse than Intel, but Intel are so much slower.

Best to make sure you definitely get Sata III SSDs for the sandybridge platform, the Crucial M4 64 Gb is brilliant for its pre order price:

As a user of a 64 Gb C300 which has 355 Mb/s read speed, and 70 Mb/s write speed, I can definitely say that the write speed is completely meaningless on these drives if using them as an OS drive.

Windows 7 still installed onto mine in under 8 minutes.

I was hoping to pick up a second C300 for raid 0, but they are going EoL and are running OOS everywhere, I might just pre order a 64 Gb M4 instead if it can be raided with the C300, but i'll need confirmation of this first.

Awesome, thanks everyone, looks like the M4 is the one to buy :). Just need to wait for the money to come in now... :p
