Yea i think they do.

Got it for £17.99, pretty happy with that!

No they dont - unless you pay by paypal.

Also you can download stuff as often as you like - they removed the limit several years ago.

Personally I think EADM is great because they always seem to mess up the discount codes so they can be stacked or otherwise abused.

So which is it? Anyone that's ordered can you confirm if you paid by card that you weren't charged immediately?

Jeez, got it to work but didn't order in time because I was trying to find a coke zone voucher.

Owell, waiting for retail deals/steam release.

i think bf3 is one of the few games i would like to own a physical copy of although i buy most of my games now through steam if its on pc.

i cant wait for this to come out, its been a long time since i sunk my teeth into a joystick for some dog fighting :D

Was just looking through Youtube, and came across the longer 12 minute gameplay vid... Damn now I want this game more than anything!

Bad Company 2 is probably my favourite game for a long time, but this looks like it will surpass it big time.

Just been playing BF2 for a bit of nostalgia and sadly I feel that it hasn't aged well at all. I didn't really enjoy any of the rounds I played today.

I remember it being a great game, maybe one of the best of all time, probably the one I've spent most time with of all games I've played, but by today's standards it just feels slow and clunky. Awkward even. The days of BF2 I feel are way behind us and I think rightly so. I reckon it had it's time and was amazing when it came out, but it just doesn't cut it these days.

There are too many annoying quirks to it. It's inconsistent; the hit-reg is so poor it's laughable; everyone dolphin dives, and people spam the comms constantly. I just found the whole experience extremely irritating really, which was a shame as I hoped to fall straight back into it.

I hope some aspects such as large maps, teamwork emphasis and decent vehicles are kept from BF2, but from going back to BF2 I hope that BF3 plays more like BC2 than BF2. *SHOCK HORROR* Okay, BC2 may have a more "arcadey" feel to it, but there's nothing realistic about BF2. The people who say it's "way more realistic than BC2" are just kidding themselves in my opinion.

Being good at BF2 was never about real life tactics etc. it was always about getting used to the little quirks of the game and getting the knack of dealing with the peculiarities in the engine. If you could do that, you could win rounds, unfortunately I got no satisfaction from that anymore when I played it again, it just seemed a bit weak and lacking in fun; which is what games are all about isn't it?

My most recent BF2 rounds for me were summed up by this:

Run round corner, confront enemy, both dive to prone and shoot each other in face. Random chance dictates who dies first. Repeat.

I used to love this, but it just doesn't cut it anymore.

I regularly return to it and still love it :p

Sure on the surface, BF2 looks almost cartoonish, the graphics are aging and the animations look silly at times compared to BC2, but the actual underlying gameplay has more depth to it and more scope for skilled players.

The prone spam thing is no longer a problem since v1.5, most servers I play on now, people don't instantly prone during close one on one encounters, since you get a massive accuracy penalty. Going prone at longer ranges is a perfectly legitimate action though and realistically speaking, something you'd probably do in real life.

With regards to hit reg, I'm inclined to agree that BF2 has problems, but nowhere near the problems you see in BC2 (especially since the last few patches). Maybe it's just my setup, but the animations in BC2 seem completely out of sync with what's actually being registered by the server, making the hit detection seem very random. This is especially noticeable when it comes to headshots which seem to be a bit of lottery since the last patch. Also let's not forget the ridiculous weapon balancing and the general lack of proper recoil simulations (much like in COD).

BF2 has it's problems, but I'd much rather they kept that as a basis for BF3, rather than BC2, which in all honesty is a far more flawed game, but dressed up nicely.
