Imagine the poor buggers who own PSPgo. Those devices are well and truly crippled.
Lmao @ Sony tbh! A company of Sonys stature should have no problem fixing attacks like this within hours not days or maybe even weeks! Very poor imo!
Well, I think it goes to show you get what you pay for![]()
My personal opinion is that they are going to do a big restructure of the system so that these attacks don't happen again as easily. Didn't someone mention before that they would have to take everything down to do that? If so I don't mind it being down a few more days if it slows the hackers down in future.
PS3 users pay for it in the end anyway. Eg, composite cable in the ps3 box, £50 controllers.

Sony just add the service costs on to the price of their ps3 products, whether that's licensing fees for games, or ps1 games on the store or hardware/peripherals. It's just not a direct charge like live is.

If your hypothesis is correct, I wonder why Xbox Live was down for so long then a few years back? I know it wasnt due to hackers, but it took a while to get it up (over a week IIRC) and running and thats as subscription service...If they tried the same thing (attacking the servers) to another hypothetical service where for example there is a monthly charge, it would be far less prone to crippling outages as I'd imagine the financial resources are there to keep it in firm shape and secure against any problems that may rise be it internal or external...
Correct, but you also suggested that the PS3 comes with very little as standard and that the accessories are costly. Controllers aren't £50 and never have been.
