...and people wonder why we asked for a sub-forum? :/ At least such a place would have been easier to talk properly. This wasn't even remotely a discussion thread yet it still got derailed by idiots. At least a sub-forum could have been treated like a cross between SC and MM. Be nice, debate at a reasonable level... but troll and you're banned from posting in it forever more. Amen.

And have a sub forum with two forever revolving threads in it...I dare say the OP knew what this thread would turn in to, it is GD after all and Squark has been around long enough to know the anti religion posters wouldnt be able to help themselves.

Or maybe as a Christian he just wanted to wish folks a happy Easter? The very fact it did descend into the resultant mess is a blemish and a shame upon GD. It doesn't mean Squark shouldn't have started it.

I don't think that would happen, there is far more to discuss in such a forum than Religion. Philosophy?, the human psyche?, spirituality?, even some of the more esoteric stuff that people wouldn't post in GD/SC simply because of the naysayers and troll-teams.

No, it is a reflection of the individual posters rather than GD as a whole. I am sure we have been told off in the past for equating the actions of a few with the actions of the whole, may even have been religion related too.... :D

You do have a good point. It's just difficult in that (1) they don't tend to give up and (2) once one 'normal' poster has given in and replied, one tends to feel obliged to 'help out' and provide some non-troll replies to turn the tide.

I think your earlier comment about perhaps not choosing GD for this thread was incorrect, though I agree with most of the rest. Where was he meant to post? SC? Hardly debate about a newsworthy issue, is it, saying 'Happy Easter'? :)

No. He made a three word statement reflecting the nature of this CHRISTIAN holiday and wished everyone the best for it. He didn't invite page after page of trolling and ridicule.

There must be a fair few motherless members on here, because mine always told me 'If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all'.

If the OP had intended this to become a debate, he probably would have posted it in SC. As it is, he's extending the blessings of his creed on those who are accepting enough to not spit in his face just because they don't share those beliefs. Your opinions on the matter are quite obvious, so you really serve no purpose in this thread apart from trolling - your posts have become as tiresome as bhavv's. Go and start a thread in SC yourself if you want to call Christians on the validity of believing in the resurrection, don't spout your vitriol in a thread that only intends to spread good-will.
