Insurance but no road tax?

Just want to check due to the new rules but I am likely to have my car off the road for a month or two, is it legal for me to keep my insurance running but SORN the car, If only for a couple of months?

Thats fine, its tax without insurance which will soon become an issue.

Not 100% sure on this, but I thought if the car was kept on your own private land then it didn't need to be insured.

Off topic a bit, but i'm due to be back on the road in a few weeks. Car has nothing on it. MOT, tax and insurance all expired. I'll be insuring the car in advance so I have the paperwork, but can I still drive to for an MOT without tax?

The new laws really aren't complicated, so I'll quote from an older post:

If it has SORN, then you can still choose whether to insure it or not.
