*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I've been trying to Flash a new ROM and I needed to flash the new HBOOT but I've got a problem!

When I go into the recovery mode to select Zip from SD card it just hangs there! Normally it'd open the list of all my folders on the SD card and then I could select it but its not working :(

Any ideas?! I've tried cleaning it blowing any dust on the SD card but to no avail :(

My Desire has propped died now :(

It rebooted while I was just browsing the internet and now it wont go past the T-Mobile loading screen just hangs there Grrr

Any ideas?

Well....

I tried getting the CID while it was in fastboot usb mode which didn't work but after rebooting it some how has kicked it back in to life. I'm happy again now :D

I had to put Oxygen back on, I've been trying to put CM7 on but it wont work.

It gets stuck on the Why So Serious S-Off page :(

I've tried using Rom Manager and its the same thing.

What do I do?

Yeah, I was just thinking about that!

I tried to Flash the new HBOOT but I just couldn't get it working

I have just found this on XDA though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
May have to give it a try

you can tell what hboot your on in bootloader, if its the oxygen hboot no other rom will install afaik, i tried that utility couldnt get it to work, fastboot command is really easy

Do you know of a simple walkthrough I can follow?

Right I have downloaded:
The rom
The HBOOT

First I need to change the HBOOT table from Oxygen to CM7.

I turn the phone on into Fastboot, and this is where I get confused. How do I flash this bit?

Turns out I do have one problem, I cannot update my radio.

The radio is 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17,
I flash the Zip, and then restart but every time it says that there is no space left. I definitely have the new HBOOT table though

Thanks for your help btw!

the cache partition is too small to flash radio's in recovery if you are using oxygen/cm7/data++ hboots

you need to pull the radio.img out of the .zip and flash it via fastboot on the bootloader screen. i always check the md5 hash of the .zip after i download a new radio.

Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img

I will do that this week sometime, thanks!

I've been having problems with Launcher Pro. Sometimes it will perform an error so when I FC it it loads up ADW again, when I reload LP my widgets have gone :(

Might just try use ADW. I do love the LP facebook widget though!

I see LeeDroid is up to 3.03 now. I installed it the day after the v3 release and there were some problems with some apps not working correctly. Can anyone comment on how it's handling now?

Ive been pondering moving up to 3.03, im still on 2.3d, seems tv animations have been added with this update which is awesome! hoping someone on ocuk can give a nice review of the new leedriod :)

I updated to LeeDroid3.0.3 earlier today, from 3.0.0, went smoothly and havent had any problems yet, that said i had no problems with 3.0.0. TV animations are nice, pointless but nice. Im looking forwards to future versions with the Translucent drawers and notifications, from other ROMs ive used with them I think they add a very polished look to the system.

Ill use it for a few days and give my opinions on Friday.

Leedroid 3.0.3 has a problem where all of your sent SMS messages disappear after a reboot - so if you like to keep your messages then I would steer clear at the moment or go gor 2.4.1 which is an excellent Froyo based version of his rom

I got my 2nd replacement desire this morning after my daughter decided to drool in the headphone socket and knacker that and the power button, it's obviously an as new refurb from Orange but it looks like an AMOLED screen, it's bloody awful in direct sunlight like the first AMOLED screened desire I had, black is completely black and the whites have a very slight pinkish tinge, is there any other way to tell reliably other than the hboot which will probably have been updated anyway?

I'm avoiding LeeDroid 3.03 for now since it doesn't seem production ready as it were. I'm not entirely happy with having to upgrade Hboot in order to use these gingerbread roms so hopefully he will sort it so it can install with hboot 0.75 which is what i have.
