It's amazing how dual core is supposedly so much faster, noticeably so, when top end android phones are apparently really fast and responsive already.

Pinch zoom on iPhone is instant. Everything opens instanty when I want it to. How are dual core phones going to make it more instant?

The iPhone is generally more responsive than Android anyway, Android tends to be running/doing more things at any one time, therefore the dual-core and extra RAM really help smooth things out.

Dual core or not, if the technology is available and much more efficient / faster than it's predecessor, it would be kinda stupid to not have it in your phone.

If the current O/S or its apps don't fully support dual core chipsets, it doesn't mean manufacturers should not adopt the new technology should it? I don't think so and I think most people would agree with me.

Also, if Apple had a dual core in their phones first, these opinions would be so different. The fact is that dual core technology in smart phones is awesome ;)

Yeah, it's got a big SAMSUNG logo on the front, kona786 is not happy :D:cool:

:D:D I wasn't happy at first but after seeing a few video it looks as though they have used a mirror finish for the logo and not just plain silver/white. The samsung logo for me just doesn't look very nice and holds little kudos.

I'm staying out of the 'need for dual core' debate. My 12 month contract is up thus its sgs2 for me.

If anything reminding me that Samsung sponsor Chelsea makes me want to change my choice to 'Anything but the Galaxy S II". ;)

But I'll probably suck it up, the SGS2 is going to be the easiest/quickest way for me to get a dual core handset and I'm really concerned about the locked bootloader on the Sensation. I would miss the mod scene of the Desire and I expect most devs will jump ship now to the Samsung.

Hah! Being a Gooner it pains me too see the adverts when the Chavs play at their home ground but I suck it up when I remember just how much the sound and camera on HTC phones suck balls.

The original Galaxy S has a large mod community and I'm sure it will be no different with the SGS II especially since it has an unlocked bootloader.

It's not about struggling on single core, just that it's a tad slower.

Here watch a side by side loading test on the Galaxy vs the Galaxy SII of course the extra 512mb Ram is helping but so is the dual core chip...

Ahh look at that. And i thought it was just a problem with the X10 being slow and unresponsive!
Sorry, but that vid alone shows why the iphone is a better option than the SGS.
SGS2 looks much more responsive though, thats a BIG bonus!

How do people live with the SGS and that slowness :( yuk!

That is what I mean though, one of the downsides to Android can be fixed by more power, now I'm just waiting for apps to catch up :p
