jusy picked this up and doing the training, on the abhrams tank training, problem i'm having is i'm being told to switch to the gunners seat to use the machine gun but i can't figure out how the hell to do it.

If you have a middle mouse button then press that mate and scroll, if not then use your '[,]' keys :)

thats just swiching the rounds in the main cannon from HE to something else and not actually switching weapons. Damn i played the original arma long ago forgot how hard it is

Yeah pretty sure it's mousewheel scroll and middle click to select, It's what I've used in the series since 2001. Switching rounds is also in the scroll wheel menu so make sure you aren't mashing the mousehweel.

Try using the F key to switch to machine gun, if that fails jump out of the tank and you should have options to be seated in different parts of the tank :)

eureka using the "F" key worked great thanks

No problem mate, if you’re heading online and have Arrowhead then search for 'Five' in the filter options, it’s the clan I'm part of and we base ourselves on Military realism, we design our own missions and have some great fun :)

F Switches gun modes in the selected seat, you asked how to change seats.
This is the way to do it in the tutorial, but not in the real game(it automatically seats you, which you didn't realise :P)

Load up a map, place an abrams tank.
Scroll mouse wheel to select slots (You don't need to jump out here) and when in the gunner position, F selects between the main gun and M240, there's also an M2 point on the commander's slot.

F definitely does not change vehicle slots by default.

Confirmed. Mouse Scroll wheel is your default Action Menu, and is used to change seats inside a vehicle, among other things.
