What a brilliant game this is. Really impresses me that Epic have been able to make a progressively more complete and enjoyable game with each release in the Gears Series. Graphics, animations, sounds, gameplay, weapons - they're all fantastic. Good to see that they've taken on board what the fans want from the multiplayer.
Also, the level design is really remarkable compared to the other games. They're far more open plan and colourful (I said more colourful, I'm not comparing this to Pikimin here!), but still retain the same feel and provide enough cover to not render them too open. Top marks from me!

PLayed my first ten matches this afternoon, I can only say one thing. I. am. balls. at this game! Can't seem to kill anyone and people just doing roly poly shotgunning sucks

I've asked this question on the gears forums - are epic going to give us another map to play?
If you look at the stats there are stats for using the Hammer Of Dawn and the Retro Turret and neither of these are in any of the maps we get to play now.
Why would they be on the stats page if we can't use them?
It makes me wonder if epic are going to let us play either Overpass or Mercy on one of these "special" weekends they've mentioned.
Somebody has replied saying Joe Graff said he's already deleted Overpass and Mercy from the beta but why wouldn't they delete the stats pages too?

I woke up to an email for the Gears 3 beta this morning, was not expecting that. I thought if you pre-ordered after a certain date online you were not eligible for a code. But ah well here we are, might give this some gaming at some point, anyone wish to add me, it's Zhokel

How many new versus old maps will the release have?
Has that been released yet? One thing I do prefer with COD games is they don't throw in so many old maps so you are kind of at a level playing field with a new release.

At least one as they are screenshots of Gridlock flying around(might even be a few pages back in this thread). Apparently Clocktower is making a return from gears one as well. I hope it is as it's my favourite ever gears map.
