Top Stephen King film?

IT is genuinely one of the few films that creeps the heck out of me.

Not realy a fan of King, but that one sits up in my top films for that quality.

The Green Mile, The Mist, or Misery are probably the best movies that actually stick with the events in the book reasonably accurately.

Shawshank redemption and Stand by me are both fantastic films, but they're based on short stories, and I think most of the credit should go to the film makers rather than King. Neither short story is particularly great, but the film-makers adapted and lengthened them to make awesome movies.

The same with the running man. They took the title of the book, but thats about it.

I can't think of a Stephen King movie adaptation i've seen that I haven't liked, seen many of those mentioned above and all hit the spot, The Shining is pretty much considered a horror classic and is probably my fave of his. One that I can't see mentioned above is Pet Cemetary, quite a creepy film but not a touch on the book which I thought was excellent.

i quite like the langoliers, IT was pretty good, it was by far the most psychologically scarring as a kid, the end of the mist was also good, it wasn't a blockbuster ending but it was the worst case scenario for the main character so fitting to the type of tale being told.

lol @ the langoliers, that fllm was great - although I wish they'd have made it so you never got to see the monsters at the end, because that bit failed

The Dead Zone is a good one. The books better but they did a good job on the film. And you cant grumble about any movie with Christopher Walken in it

The Mist is probably my favourite, followed by The Green Mile.

Then there's obviously The Shining, and Cujo.

I was also quite pleasantly surprised by Sometimes They Come Back, which had some nicely creepy moments for being a made-for-TV flick.

Graveyard Shift is a fun little monster movie, too.
