** The Official Royal Wedding Thread **

Watched every minute of it on BBC HD. Proud to be British .

Catherine, the Duchess Of Cambridge is alright looking for a commoner :D. Got to love Harry to Wills at the alter "Wait until you turn around" :D, and then Kate when she stepped out on the balcony seeing the crowd ”Oh Wow”.

Felt sorry for Beckham, even I know which side to wear the medal! Don't see why Posh couldn't spare a smile though . ZOMG Eugenie and Beatrice, WTF were they wearing! Both looked absolutely hideous! Samantha Cameron could have done with a hat TBH, but was far better dressed than Clegg/Miliband/Bercow's other halves.
Surprised they let Elton John in the church TBH. And along the same line, one of the ambassadors entering looked just like Al Fayed to me, I was like WTF is he doing there!

Thought that Brother Middleton did well with the reading considering he’s a nobody stood up in front of the Queen and however many people watching. Harry needs to dump that Chelsy Davy tart and get with Pippa Middleton TBH.

Police looked to be handling the crowds very well. Liked the flypast, though it could have done with the Red Arrows and Concorde too TBH.

From what I've read so far they reckon one million people were lining the streets in London, and worldwide viewing figure is two billion plus .

Wish I was there TBH. Friends from Australia were outside Buckingham Palace for it, and friends in Canada all got up early to watch it on TV.

One nice touch I thought was that for the journey to church they had a motorbike outrider, then the classic old Bentley with Queen etc in it, and then a Range Rover full of heavies. That was it. In America for Obama or whoever (yes I know he's a nobody compared with the Queen, but that's the closest they've got) you'd have 20 motorbike outriders, then Obama in a hideous Caddy, then about 20 Escalades/Tahoes/Yukons full of heavies!
Also for the carriage ride back from the church the two blokes on the back (in the full horseman bling) were guards with guns underneath. In America they wouldn't have been wearing the nice uniform, would have had guns on show and a massive sign pointing to them saying "I is guard y0!"

Highlight for me: Jerusalem

As for the coverage, shame the BBC had to go and spoil it with Fearne Cotton & Alex Jones & Edith Bowman :(. Felt sorry for Chris Hollins when he had that mad hat man!

Google pipa Middleton... Do not want! She managed to polish up very very well it seems.
And I agree with easy that Kate does look old for her age at times.

Was a pretty good day for us brits though I enjoyed seeing some national pride on display.

Telegraph had a lip reader who said that harry said to william "wait till you see her"

Watching it back and seeing his lips, this seems to make more sense that what some others are reporting.

Has there been any confirmation of how many people watched it? I find the talk of 2 billion hard to believe...

The first figures from the internet for Livestream:

The company says that its livestream of William and Kate’s wedding topped 300,000 concurrent viewers at 6 a.m. ET on Friday morning. CEO Max Haot tells us that he expects “at least 2 million” unique viewers by the time the broadcast is done. Livestream partnered with the Associated Press, UK Press Association, CBS and Entertainment Tonight for its coverage.

Akamai reports that the event broke broader live streaming records as well. A representative for the company — whose network hosts some of the web’s largest news sites — reports that “concurrent live streams of Royal Wedding on Akamai surpassed the 1.6M peak set by World Cup in June of 2010.”

Yeah, Obama has nothing on the Queen. He's only the most powerful man in the world.

Ooo-err!
