That explains it then...

I often wondered why, but never thought to ask him.
So not a PhD then....
But still...
WTF
We let them call themselves 'Dr'....
I'm gobsmacked
Anyone with a Phd is a doctor and can use that title. It's not just those with a medical degree.
They may be a doctor of some description, but they are not MDs, which frankly is a more important distinction.
MD is a doctor of medicine. Dr can be anybody with a PhD in something or another.

I was always under the impression that Chiropractors were a bunch of quacks...
AECC is the college that I went too for 5 years, although there are some other universities offering Chiropractic degrees in the UK (see Here)...hardly the education of a "quack" or "charlatan"!
Chiropractors practice under the Chiropractors Acts 1994 and are regulated by The General Chiropractic Council

My step brother always refers to himself as Dr.......even though at work he is a Mr......![]()
Fun fact surgeons stop being doctors when they finish their training.
They give up the title and become Mr.
What?... a PhD on the other hand involves 4 years of undergraduate, 2 years of Masters and 5-6 years of doctoral studies (the Uk aside, but academia in the Uk is a joke)).
If you've ever had serious back pain a chiropractor is a lifesaver, not a "quack".
I know its very very sad but almost all of my friends are Medical doctors and I don't think I have heard a single one refers to them self as Dr outside the hospital.

IBut what do they teach you that takes 5 years? Do you do all the basic medical sciences?

At med school we always used to rip the dentists for why they needed to study for 5 years, haha. But secretly a little jealous because it seemed quite chilled out and they're now raking it in, unbelievable.
