The Koran - Whos Read It?

You call it flexibility, but what remains of Christianity today, that was there when Jesus Christ PBUH was actually here? Do you think those Christians then would even recognise these people today as Christians? Women priests, homosexual priests, gay marriages etc etc. Many things that Christianity forbids and condemns are taking place freely and openly now, and just because the vast majority of Christians convince themselves it's ok, quite a fair amount know it isnt

You think those things are only present in 'modern' society?
They were evident in and around the society of the early Church too, so yes they would wholly recognise us a Christians.

Anyway those issues do not define Christianity in any way, shape or form, only the belief that Jesus died once for sin, was raised to life and that he is Lord.

They are the vain desires of sinners, that you can do as you please but as long as you believe in one thing you'll be fine. What then is the purpose of Gods law, if as you say it doesn't mean anything at all? In reality what has happened, as has happened before I should add, is man has changed Gods laws to suit his own desires and in order to justify his own sins which violates Gods law, and instead of actually saying we will not follow Gods law you prefer to say it can be changed and adapted to suit people. You have in essence replaced Gods laws with your own thus making yourself a god.

When the following verse of the Quran was revealed, a Christian man went to the prophet PBUH to dispute it:

They take their priests and their rabbis to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). (Quran 9:31)

He said that we never use to worship our priests, we never use to bow down in front of them. Then the Prophet (pbuh) went on to explain the meaning and he said, "did they not make lawful what Allah (SWT) made unlawful and did they not make it unlawful what Allah made lawful" and he replied "yes". The prophet (pbuh) said that it was their worship of them.

In short, any human being who believes that another human being (including themself) has a right to replace Gods laws with their own laws, has committed shirk (associating partners with God) and this is the one thing which God will never forgive, according to Islam. It is not a suprise at all that we live in a day and age where almost all the things taught in the Bible are violated openly and it is preached by the religious leaders of that faith, that it is permissible and ok to do so. They are hypocrites.

?

What on earth are you trying to say?

God's law is perfect, our failure to be able to keep it and therefore be justified shows us our desperate need for a saviour. There is absolutely no way I can justify myself before God, no amount of 'good works' will save me.
Jesus is that saviour, though.

Out of God's love for us, he kept God's commands and then took all sin upon himself as a sacrifice so that I can be forgiven and am now able to stand before God just as if I'd never sinned, that's not to say that I don't still make mistakes, but my soul is righteous before God.

That is the gracious gift of God, he knows that we were unable to save ourselves but he doesn't want anyone to perish because he love us so extraordinarily so in Jesus he gave us a way back to him.

Our response, as Christians, to God's great love is to seek to and keep God's law and live a life of gracious compassion just like Jesus.

Thank god for no bacon in islam...vile disgusting meat...but we have halal turkey bacon...om nom nom

The above is conclusive proof that Islam fails. Turkey bacon is a poor substitute and you are only pretending to like it to support your faith. :D

e36Adz you talk about God's law because that is all you have, I talk about God's grace because it is everything that we need.

Have you ever tried it though? I'm guessing no, so you cannot possibly call it vile! It's amazing. :p

Actually i have when i was young, dumb and stupid...one and only mistake ill ever make lol...i tried it because i was curious to see what the hype was all about.

Still vile and disgusting though:p.
