** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

I'd suggest re-reading what it does.... its utterly essential to any combat spec

???? 45% more damage (with glyph of revealing strike) on your finishers is insane.
All my glyph slots are full, i'll see how i do without it tbh.

Just done an instance with my new reforged spec, now averaging about 10k DPS in most fights! Activate my DPS macro (Blade Flurry, Blood Fury, Adrenaline Rush, Combat Readiness) and it shoots up to 18-20k!
So firmly near the top or at the top of the DPS for the first time in ages! :D

well glad you're enjoying playing at least. guess its not always about squeezing out 110% dps at all times so if you can remain competitive whilst doing things your own way then fair play mate

Just doesn't make much sense to me, revealing strike only costs a little more energy than sinister strike so why not use it.

I think the best way to use it is 3 sinister strikes then 1 revealing strike for the debuff to get your 4 combo points.

edit: also what's the point of having combat readiness in your dps macro, it's just a defensive cooldown ;x

TBH this is a question only you can answer. :D

However, some couple of points to consider:

First, if you liked the harder difficulty of dungeons/raids pre-WOTLK then the end game PvE content nowadays may be more to your taste.

Second, the OcUK Guild on Defias Brotherhood (Horde Side) is a friendly place, and (from what I hear, not having raided really) is supportive of those that do.

Finally, if you can have fun with your (even non-OcUK) friends in Cata, what is there to consider?

I've played Cata and got to 85 and then just got bored and quit and now they want me to come back and 'will help me' to gear lol

I didn't mind it but as the summer is coming I'd rather spend my time outside or doing something else but then again if it's raining I want something to do :p

Well if you tried Cata already then I don't think you will find it any different. Once you hit level cap then the only thing to keep you going is achievement hunts (Hi Deadbeat :D), Raids or PvP. So from your remarks doesn't sound as if you will find anything new to like.

Then again it is cheap enough to subscribe for a month, and gearing up is much faster now (up to 1000/1250 VP per week just from Dungeons) so it might be worth a short sub to check it out.....

Hmm suppose, Might have a month sub soon when I've got a lot less work going on at college :) and then if I like it I might continue

You mean 4 sinister strikes then a revealing strike? ;)
Might play with it on my alternate talent spec, can easily switch between them then if I don't like it.

No its not:
'Enter into a state of heightened awareness, deflecting enemy weapon strikes with increasing effectiveness. Successive attacks will deal 10% less damage per application, stacking 5 times. Lasts for 20 seconds, but if 10 seconds elapse without any incoming weapon strikes, this state will end'.
Aids in defence. My DPS macro is generally used agaist bosses, so whilst the other stuff aids in damage given, this helps reduce damage taken, increasing my time in the fight. :)

My rogue and war i chilled while lvling them i didn't really get to see the quest's with my lock as i wanted server first 85 warlock >.>; which i got gogo no lifer :(

Just noticed the bit about server first 85 Warlock ^^. Don't know whether to congratulate or feel sorry for you...... :)

I've raided hardcore all the way up until end of wrath then quit for 4 months, came back and i'm now guildless. I used to play fire mage and was one of the best geared on my server I've now come back and after getting used to a few things, quite a lot has changed O.o.

I'm now guildless on The Kul Tiras server and being guildess sucks, especially when half of the people on your server havn't even ran old ZG and ZA before. Also it's impossible to get into any raids, especially as i love the concept of them going back to Vanilla/TBC levels as wrath was faceroll.

Do any of you other guys play a mage? been reviewing recent fire changes and I'm just not happy of how the new T3/T4 Hot streaks work etc, plus the ignite dmg has been nerfed with it only proccing from direct dmg speels and our crit levels being lowered. As i've just came back I don;t have Tier 11 4 piece either which i can guess would provide me with a significant DPS boost. Atm i've had to go Arcane which i think is a nice challeneg now to mana my mana more efficiently.

I am sure that being guildless now days is not fun.

I am not a raider (too much stuff in RL at moment) , but from what I understand if you were to transfer you would be very welcome to join the raiding team on the OcuK Defias Brotherhood Guild (Horde Side):

http://www.banshammer.com/

Its pretty much a formality for OcUK members to join, but check first of course.

As for answers from fire mages, I think Indie plays one? In any case, given that they were topping the DPS meters anyway, a nerf was always in the cards.....

I played as a arcane mage during LK but i havent played cata but will resub this month , arcane was ok but very boring , i think i will respec fire , but i have same problem as you , i was pretty well geared for LK but only being lv80 now i feel like the game might have changed to much , asking nobs questions about where to go to lv to 85 lol

How much does it cost to change servers?

The guild myself and a mate are in just has us two in it, thinking it may be worth jumping over and joining you lot. :)

I myself am deciding wether to come back or not, i quit after i just fell out of love with the game when cata was released. healing got silly, and even though i loved my disc priest, i just didnt see the point anymore in spamming heal, with the odd bubble and penance, and with the tank being hit for stupid amount, and your main heal doing a measly 12k crit, whats the point? extra work for pointless results.
Then i swapped to my deathknight, and loved DPS/tanking with her.. but then once again, i soon got bored doing the same thing.
I here witht the new patch there are new instances etc... but i also here they've nerfed DK's and Disc priests, i think i'd have to reroll - all the effort.. will it be worth it?
