The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

I upgraded my phone to Gen2 and put the new CM7 on it but I notice the new RLS5 is out. Can I flash the RLS5 straight to my phone without making any other changes?

Presumably. It says gen1/gen2 in the SS thread @ modaco.

Might be worth recalibrating the battery.

I Think if your on CM7, you might have to do a full wipe then install RLS5. If you arent, and you are running an earlier version of SS, then you can install newer versions on the top.

I dont have issues with MMS. I use the bog standard Messaging application and attach images, seems to work fine without wifi/3g activated. Just a bog standard reception.
 
Hi guys just got one of these phones but hell im going insane here :(

ive rooted the phone and unlocked it,created a gmail account,entered my phone number and step 2 verification.
when i go on the android market site no matter what i do it just says there is no android device attached to this account even though gmail has sent me texts :eek: and im basically stuck there because i carnt get any apps to install because of the above.
Ive tried various tricks like adding and removing my phone number from gmail settings but nothing works it just goes round in circles.
Just add to the weirdness when i try to add my gmail details in accounts and sync on the phone it just keeps saying my password is wrong even tho its not, as i can log in and out on my pc with same details
Ive been going in circles at this bit all day and im ready to throw the damn thing out the window :mad:

either im stupid or google is any help appreciated

Are you using the bog standard "email" application on your SanFran, or the actual "gmail" app?

All i can say it go onto https://market.android.com/ and seeing if you can install an application from there.

Make sure WiFi is turned onto your phone, and your connected to your home network, if not turn on your mobiles data service - connect to a 3G connection/HSDPA.

If all else fails, turn off mobile, pull out battery, leave for a minute, replace, turn on and leave for 5 minutes so everything loads correctly etc. Then attempt to download/install from market again.

Could you also post some pictures of the error message?

Also at the top of the market screen on your computer, you should have your gmail account, correct?

all of a sudden it decides to work DefiantAsh guess was some sort of delay between gmail and apps market just wish i knew that before i spent hours working out what was wrong but thanks for interest/help :)

No worries, at least its there if someone does have an extended issue.

Glad its sorted for you bud :).

Also i basically camp in the Mobiles sub-forum now, and especially when im interested in the Android Honeycomb/Asus Transformer :D

Apparently the Galaxy S2 has decent battery life, it depends how much you use it.

SanFrancisco is alright i suppose, around 1 day with a lot of use and constant wifi/sync on.

But i think most phones today will go about a day before a charge is wanted for the next day :)
 
HELP for my daughter.

For some reason my daughters SF is receiving texts hours later.
Is there a setting to speed this up or is there a button she can press like 'Send/receive emails' on a PC?

Whats the 3G reception like where you/your daughter lives? Well any phone reception tbh.

Thats the only thing i can think of at the moment, will see if i can find anything around the same area.

Always has been, it cuts out after your phone goes to sleep.

Download this - Blade WiFi Fix

However i think SS RLS5 has it custom built into the ROM which automatically restarts the WiFi.
