Osama bin Laden is dead - no graphic/violent images.

The fake image is over a year old and was not actually released by the US so...

So stop using a forged image as proof of his death.

Benazir Bhutto told you years ago that he was dead!

Buried at sea! Says it all really doesn't it?

Obama will get his next term because of this "victory". He will now have an excuse to invade Pakistan. The encirclemnent of Iraq will be complete, which is their ultimate goal. Hopefully Russia and China wil then join in the fray and the **** will then really hit the fan.

I believe the timing is to coincide with the withdrawal of ground troops from Afghanistan. The western sheeple need a non-existant psychological victory before the troops are pulled. The media can claim some sort of victory and some kind of ending to this mess, as if you actually achieved anything the last eight years.

Turpitz - stop trolling

It's a fake stupid! A bit like your imaginary WMD's that Saddam had. Can't you understand the simplicity of that? or is way over your head?

Al-Qaeda terrorists have threatened to unleash a “nuclear hellstorm” on the West if Osama Bin Laden is caught or assassinated, according to documents to be released by the WikiLeaks website, which contain details of the interrogations of more than 700 Guantanamo detainees.

Wow, I woke up to see someone posted this on Facebook and didn't believe it.

Some news. Hope it's not BS

Seems a bit dodgy that they killed him and then chose to just dump him at sea..

I'm not...for whatever reason the media is it doesn't really make a difference to how true or not this is.

I highly doubt that such an obviously fake image would have been officially released.

Official or not there are people who will see it and think it is real.

Exactly...your saying our opinion is based on our loyalties...ie what side we are on, not actual empirical data. This just leads to close mindedness and extermism on both sides.

You say bin laden did *nothing* good.....but what do you actually know of what he did apart from what your side is telling you. He was supposedly a very quiet, humble man, intelligent and well educated and I'm sure he did a lot of good for "his people" - which just as the good you see our leaders do, would balance out the bad Bin Laden did in his peoples opinion.

There are just as many people in the world who dont think he was an evil terrorist, but a freedom fighter and who do think Bush/Blair are the terrorists. So, their opinion is wrong and ours is right just because of "sides" ?

There is no absolute right or wrong - generally might is right. It was a war (on both sides) and we killed him before he killed "us"...we won this part of the battle, thats all - I dont see any moral high ground being won.

Martin McGuinness was an "evil terrorist" who murdered people, now he is part of the ruling elite *shrug*

Its easy to use pejorative statements to mould peoples opinions to how we want them to think only to change them when it suits our aims.

Well said on all levels.

Huh? What is the purpose of that, do you even know where Iraq is?

Sorry! I meant Iran.

I think this 'threat' came out of the interrogations of KSM, who was tortured so much that he admitted to everything short of being Santa. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you cut the head of the snake, the body will die - all good and well but the body writhes furiously for a while afterwards and that is my fear, Al-Queada will strike back in some form or another accompanied with the announcement of a new leader - better the Devil you know?

That's a good analogy, but doesn't really work in this case. It's a bit like the Queen being assassinated, yeah it would affect the UK, Canada, Australia and several other countries directly (as head of state) but in reality it does nothing to those nations. Al'Queda never was and never will be a single organisation, it is just a bunch of organisations with similar motives, of which Bin Laden was the most wanted due to connections with US attacks.

In reality he was a nobody who probably had no input into any attacks other than the 3 against the US he was linked to.

Numerous people in this thread have said two words over and over which leave me dumbfounded;

"good news"

care to explain why it's good news? anyone?

Because he was "evil" apparently and this forum love being patriotic and overbearing for things like this...

Not that I think either way about him but essentially he was an opposition leader hunted for the last ten years, fighting the percived invaders of his home area with the means he had at his disposal. The fact we (the UK, US and west) have killed far more civilians in his area than his "group" ever killed will be beside the point...
