Basically want to know if these use a SATA or molex power connector if anyone owns one and could check for me please? Can't find out anywhere on the internet :S

Got two of them coming for RAID 0 on wednesday so need to know if I need to buy a molex to sata converter or not as my PSU only has 3 sata power connectors and I've ordered an SSD and a sata DVD RW also...

Molex power connectors on SATA drives died out well before SATA 3 (6GB/s) became available so would not expect a new drive to have a legacy power connector.

Ah didn't know, proves how upto date I am when it comes to harddrives and optical drives etc lol. Due to the drives being OEM, do you get ANY cables with them or are they literally bare drives?

OEM will be truly bare, nothing at all just in a antistatic bag with some silica gel :)

The motherboard should have come with enough SATA data cables so it sounds like you need some sort of power connector. If you can't get one before your drives I would just do without the SATA optical drive.

Just ordered one of the £1.39 molex to sata power connectors for delivery on the same day as my full build turns up lol. Can't believe I missed that when speccing it all up though but no crisis! (yet)

Thanks mate
