FPTP is far from perfect but AV is a step in the wrong direction.

Your decision should be independent of political allegiance. It's about what is best for the country. Voting AV purely to harm the Coalition is pathetic and pointless. For the record AV will harm Labour just as much as the Conservatives hence why Milliband is in a minority.

I'm honestly not sure yet. However, AV would raise the power of my vote from 0.2 to 0.3 of a full vote based on my current constituency (Warwickshire North).

FPTP, I'm up for PR but not what AV offers as a weird halfway house.

Out of interest, what are the general opinion polls looking like nationwide? Does AV have much chance?

AV will keep labour honest.
Even when the conservatives do not win, labour won't be as dominant as they can be with a smaller % of the vote, and as such it'll be better for the country when they can't mess things up as badly in future.

AV all the way.

It is a bit like being asked which leg you want chopping off.

Pretty much, it's just a marter of who cuts of that extra an inch, that depends on how you see the benefits/negatives of the two systems.

It bemuses me how few have actually read up on Australia and other countries that have or have tried it.

A no vote won't be taken as a "no to AV" though, it will be taken as a "yes to FPTP". AV may be slightly better, but in my eyes it has a higher chance leading to further electoral reform sooner down the line.

And what do you base either of those statements on. Has any party said if yes to av future changes are on the table. Nothing but conjecture. The most likely out come is yes or no, that is what we will have for many many decades.

How did you work that out? And does anyone have any stats on what difference AV would have made to past general elections.

You can't vote yes or no on the basis of what additional reform it might or might not lead to. A vote needs to be cast under the assumption that what you get we have to live with. It's just my opinion but AV is one of the stupidest voting systems I've ever heard of and thus I can't vote for it. The fact that fptp isnt perfect either is of no consequence to me.

Rediculuse argument and should not be voted on such baises. Either vote will lead to decades of no other change. No further change is on the table and should be left out of any decision. One of the stupid yes campaigns lies. To match the no campaign lies.

I haven't read either of the yes and no campaigns for that reason. It's that and voting for FPTP for me would send the wrong message. I am in favour of a change and saying yes to FPTP wouldn't been seen as "AV is rubbish, I'd rather have PR". Lesser of two evils and all that. I haven't 100% made my mind up, that's just what I'm leaning towards at the moment.

Why?

It can easily be seen as "Ok, we've given the people what they want....no more change necessary"

You should vote for AV if you feel it is a practical improvement on FPTP, if not then vote No as there is no point in changing.
