Osama bin Laden is dead - no graphic/violent images.

anyone who believes they would turn the cameras off is gullible.. no point taking helmet mounted cameras in the first place if they arent going to be used for anything importaint like the actual event....

This makes me laugh, taken from this:

Before the president's announcement, it was reported that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defence Secretary Robert Gates were advising him not to.

They fear that the photos might make the US look like it is revelling in Bin Laden's death, and spark reprisals in the Arab world.

Did they not see the news reels with all those US citizens having street parties and cheering "America! America!"? People have been revelling in his death since the news broke!

They said they watched a live feed and did, you assumed it was all the gory bits. You’re the one changing the story to make it sound more juicy. ;)

Not at all, the original story said nothing about only watching part of the operation, it was to clear what was meant.

Why not say in the beginning what they have said today?

And now it is revealed there was no live video feed of the operation.

The story keeps changing so often it is laughable, yet those who question events are labelled as being part of the tinfoil hat brigade.

From the article:

Lieutenant General Durrani, however, said that the denial was a "political" maneuver by the intelligence services to avoid claims that they were working too closely with the US.

He said: "It is more likely that they did know [about the raid]. It is not conceivable that it was done without the involvement of Pakistani security forces at some stage. They were involved and they were told they were in position.

"The army chief was in his office, the cordons had been thrown around that particular place. The Pakistani helicopters were also in the air so that indicates that it was involved.

It clearly shows that Pakistani authorities had knowledge of the operation especially Pakistani military. As I stated before, with the Pakistani military school nearby, they must have known what was was taking place closeby as 40mins is an ample time to alert people closeby especially since the helicopter crashed.

It has been stated the area around the military school is under constant surveillance by ISI and whoever moves into the area is known pretty easily. So denial on the part of ISI/military/political establishment in Pakistan about the operation or housing of Bin laden in that property is just a political maneuver to try to appease sections of it's population who may have anti american feelings to avoid domestic backlash.

I don't think the stealth technology of US helicopters helped the seals in going undetected into Pakistani territory.

Not necessarily, he could just be saying that to save face. You must admit that in their position you'd be trying to do the same because to the outside world they look like a bunch of untrustworthy wallies.

I’ve been wondering how they managed to avoid detection. It has to be a form of stealth design and low level flying with some electronic counter measures. Hopefully someone will leak a little more on these helicopters.

Look at the thing, a standard helicopter doesn't look like that :p

EDIT: More chopper info - http://cencio4.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/black-helo-down/ :)

Interesting part is what could be a possible date...

SCFV12A107-3 next line: REV – next line: 6-25-09 (a date maybe?)
