Forza 4

I thought after his last toy throwing episode that we would have a Latte free FM4 thread. Oh well.

Dan Greenawalt is probably going to like his own game, and say good things about it at E3. You should prepare yourself for this!

You have spent much more £££££ than anyone else to play FM4, so your opinion is better than others about the game.

It isn't pushing the genre forward for the sim racers.

(Insert game here).......... has ( insert feature here).......... and FM4 doesn't.

You're all a bunch of *******! I'm leaving this forum and never coming back!!!!

There you go, no need for you to post here again Mr Latte.

I don't care what happens with forza 3 as long as they increase the ammount of cars in multiplayer. 12-16 grid would be awesome and bring back custom lobbies. In some respects Forza 2 was like a mmo. People could organise race events and then you would try and build a car to the specifications to race. It was almost like you were your own race team constantly making cars to compete with the other. I also had a bucket load of friends during forza 2.

Forza 3 got boring very fast. Not being able to make custom lobbies was rubbish and I think it lasted about two weeks before I stopped playing it. 3 lap races are not fun. I miss 10 lap endurance races on the ring with RWD limitations and a 400bhp limit. :D

Private lobbies in fm3 took a huge step forward, it has led to some awesome race series that are quite well locked down by the config. If they allow them to become public, and naturally give even more options, including practice/qually etc, I think they may approach the elusive " all things to all men", alas, back in reality, I'm only expecting some small advances, but you never know...

This

I dont own kinnect so will I be gimped when it comes to playing FM4

Mr Latte still mad at the xbox!

No I made an assumption on what I assumed was a technical issue that Kinect support may bring. Not only that but clearly pointed from personal opinion I'd be surprised if the game maintains 60 FPS with all the extra eye candy and additional cars etc. If I'm wrong on that, fine I have no issues being wrong or if Kinect would work fine at 60fps.

Already look at the abuse I get from the usual moron who has to make it an issue and his smart ass reply. It seems impossible to have an opinion here and put forward a view or indeed because of some be allowed to express it.

They could possibly get more eye candy out of it using tricks like reducing draw distance like in Crysis 2.

Alternatively, maybe there'll be specific cinematic modes, like how when you go into photo more in FM3 it does extra post processing.

Your opinion seems to be very negative already despite nobody really having any info on the game, why are you so negative despite a lack of info?

Why did you not pull apart GT5 when it was released in the same way you will pull apart FM?

I enjoyed Forza2 and 3, so I should enjoy this.

I'll definitely not buy Kinect for some of the challenges / whatever you need it for in the game though, wouldn't be worth it.

We will probably learn a bit more at E3 next month, or I hope so.

There is a difference between having an opinion and forcing your opinion as fact.

You should look up the differences.

Maybe you and some others should turn off your attitude before replying.
Please re-read what I said as I commented that even if a drop to 30fps happens its not necessarily a bad thing regards the gameplay. PGR4 dropped to 30fps as many other enjoyable racing games run at 30fps too.

I put forward that Turn 10 may spend more time delevoping for Kinect support/features in the game over other things that would or indeed could be more in line with what general racing fans would rather have. So yes just like FM3 wider audience appeal may be one of their main priorities than making the franchise more focused on actual racing or simulation elements. To me that development is a possibility in gimping to an extent gamers from possibly having a deeper or really satisfying racing game. For instance will Turn 10 also focus more on wheel users or hardened race fans to also enchance their experience? Thats a valid point is it not and the additional cars is one such improvement that is really welcomed.

So read this as an opinion and speculation its NOT forcing anything on anyone...

Turn 10 stated Kinect will work on FM4 at 60fps during E3 last year before Kinect even launched. Digital Foundry state Kinect runs at 30fps and while they mention that the Kinect Sports title works at 60fps in one of their articles Kinect will only operate itself at 30fps. So Kinect may be limited in its performance and have a degree of latency or only work on certain play modes within the game. My whole point is with many not interested much in it how will it change the games development and to what extent?

I hope all that isnt the case and Im over-reacting but its gut feeling as FM4 may just be a tweaked more of the same with Kinect features. I would love to see FM4 really lift the franchise and be not just a good little racing game but a spectacular one that really appeals to the little kids yet not at the expense of neglecting true racing fans.

I honestly don't know why you are here though.

You constantly ripped FM3 apart before and after release, you have an unhealthy dislike for T10, yet you are still coming into the Forza threads.

Why can't you see that the Forza games just aren't for you?

Ok, for the purposes of comparison to Kinect, does anyone know how frequently the 360 controller polls the analogue sticks? How about a wheel?

It's also perfectly possible for the game to run at 60fps while only polling the input source every 30s or more frequently than 60fps or to adapt how it runs depending on the selected input. The two need not be synchronous, as they needn't tie the physics to the drawing in that way if they don't want to.
