Im just not getting that, i wouldnt give a **** who was saying what non payers are non payers and leave, that was an exceptional circumstance, you must have been renting in some ropey areas for that to be a problem.

Yeah, Sheffield, thank **** we sold on and moved areas!!!

I hate bribery but when a councillor turns around and tells me im ****** unless i treat him to a few days away when im halfway through my build stage, I dont really have much choice do I.

If I did the right thing I would be homeless its that simple.

Hate bribery so much that you carry on regardless... when really you could be reporting these people with evidence etc etc.
But then do I actually believe you at all? Not really.

I really dont have time for all that hassle, say it takes 3 months to sort that out, then the result is my build gets delayed for 3 more months, and I become a grass, no thanks, vs upto 3 nights of messing around in London.

Well said especially the bit about the desperate man needing quick cash, that has always been an excellent stream of revenue for us.

Its only wrong if you tell the desperate man his 1.01 Ct, GIA, VS1 D with ideal cut polish and symmetry is worth 1k but you will give him 1.1k because you are a nice chap.

However if said man knows what his stone is worth but needs the cash and is willing to sell then I don't see anything wrong. However I do not see it as your job to educate the man either.

Life is about finding balances in everything.

I think people are not getting my point. I'm not saying go all out and risk everything, I'm just saying do that little bit more than just mediocrity. Everyone gets what they tolerate. Don't wanna tolerate an average lifestyle? That person will take more action than someone who is 'comfy'. Some people do the things necessary to get the things they want, we have classic examples of that on our forum.

There are also people doing the same thing day in day out, reaching £30k a year and then stopping there, why?

Because they have reached the top of their tree? Because they value other things than a high salary?

Because it takes the leap that we are talking about to ditch everything and jump to another? Because that risk is not just for them, it is a risk for everyone who depends on them!?

The central point you are coming back to is that average lifestyle = average material possessions. Better lifestyle = better material possessions.

I know this sidetrack started as a result of people jumping on the OP for bragging about his apparent excessive lifestyle but nobody comes on this forum day in day out talking about cars to see a new member telling everyone that they are really rich and that the regulars are jealous because he's got more money...no...he's just on the make: wanting all the guidance but not putting anything in.

Always going to be horses for courses, as Mark says that life is just not for some people.

Next step up does not have to equate ditching everything though, otherwise no one would progress. Getting a good job where you can meet the right people and make steady progress is something that will happen if you want it too, and you don't need family money as support in that scenario.

It is going massively off topic now though but it is interesting to hear people's and views on things, it's how we develop:)

On topic: RR > RR Sport, so much more presence!

No but the next step up normally involves never seeing your wife and kids because you are in effect working 2 jobs.

Of course some might see not seeing the wife as a bonus, but not everyone :D

I think what annoyed people was the constant mentions of prices.

I've got no problems with those who have more money that I - be it new or old! Infact I tip my hat to them :).

If I see someone with a nice suit I'll know it's a nice suit, and I may even say "nice suit". I do not need them to tell me it's a nice suit, I can see that for myself. But if instead they're like "BTW, you haven't commented on my suit. Yeah, nice isn't it. Was three grand you know." I'll think they're an arse.

How do you make steady progress when most jobs the next step is management of some kind. Not everyone can be a manager, there is only a certain number needed. So you have no choice but to carry on.
Doesn't make it a mediocre life.

Ok guys, what do you think to this ?

There seems to be numerous specs of RRS, for example I like the exhaust tips hidden away as they look cleaner from the rear, and i hate those metal things on the side that you put your feet on.

They all old. In 2010 the RR and RRS were face-lifted, the improvement in looks, quality, toys and reliability make them worth the extra cash (That may have been the point they introduced the 3.0 TDV6 to replace the 2.7, but I'm not sure...). The front lights and grill are the most obvious things to look at to tell you what is and what isn't new: The new ones have horizontal bars of LEDs on the outer edges of the lamp (Three for the RR, two for the RRS and only one for the D4)

If you're going to buy a RRS at least make it a 2010 model :p

Be better than the next man, doesn't always have to be management. Commission based roles offer great potential, I earn more than everyone in the company I contract for, except the director and two colleagues who are also contractors. I'm only 24.

Get him on tape saying it?

I would have loved to have had a councillor say something along those lines, but I didn't even get a chance, it was all above board with no hint of movement. Maybe I don't seem like the kind of person who would or could offer bribes.

You would think someone who was seriously looking at them and had the cash ready to go would know these things already...
