The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

im getting confused with all these updates.

I installed SS but cant remember which one.

Wheres the link to the newest one please?

Is that anyway of telling which one im on now?

How do i install it straight over top im not aware of how to do that?

I normally just put it on the sd card. Open up clockwork and flash it from there?>

You can tell yours by going into your phone settings > about phone, build version is at the bottom.

Use the same method as before, put on sd card and flash with CWM. If its an older version of SS you won't need to worry about wiping. Do your backup from clockwork just in case though.

If you don't mind wiping I'd go Gen2 it seems quicker and isn't much more effort :)

Quick edit - depending on how long it is since you installed CWM I'd grab the latest version from -

Install that prior to changing software incase you hit any hiccups.

1. How do people take screen shots of there phone.

2. Where do i save Music on my sd card and msg tones.

1. Most people I would think use Drocap.

2. Connect the phone to your computer and on the SD card make a folder called media. In that folder make one called audio. Then in that folder make one called ringtones for ringtones and one called notifications for other sounds. (make sure all folders are lower case). Never used my phone for actual music so unsure of where that would go.

I press the back key and the home key together and it takes a screen shot. Samsung built in app.

Edit doh. Thought i was answering another thread sorry.
On the sanfran i use adb tools from android.

I used an app called ShootMe when I wanted to take some shots of the launcher, took me a few goes to get it started but worked great.
 
Lets see if this works. If so anyone got some cool widgets that would improve this? :D

Seriously debating getting one of these asap as my satio is doing my head in, along with random texts sent, adding random video's to caller id and an obsession with playing medina - you and I. I'm about ready to run over the damn thing.

Are these actually any good? I have about 4 months left on my contract and am looking to go payg next + I have seen they're on offer on the orange website for £69.99 + £10 topup

Would it be an upgrade from the satio? I mainly browse the web and just text and call.

i think yes... my mate had a satio not long ago.. and i hated the thing everytime i touched it.. :o

but i love my SF - customisable, good battery life, perfect app shop, for web with opera mini it is PERFECT(of course could be better but for that price no phone gets close) texting is more than fine for me too.. and i text a lot ~1k text's a month.. reception is no different to my Nokia or Sony Ericsson.
 
well giffgaff still have the offer for free internet with 5quid "goodybag" after June it will be 10quid for unlimited texts+250mins + unlimited internet.. really if he only uses a few quid a month.. top up with 5quid and let him use the mb without plan.. ?!
 
bah can't get mms to work on the latest gen2 CM7.

i've entered all the voda settings correctly, worked fine on SS5.
