Time to start tweaking my overclock. Hit 6768 3dmark score with my current overclock, so got to drop it down a fair bit, then just keep repeating the benchmark and repeat it until I hit it on the mark! Also, in the overclocking %, are we allowed to disable cores? So disable all but 1 core and see how high you can get that 1? As that wouldn't be much of a real world scenario, but would undoubtably allow higher clock speeds?

Anyway, I like the idea of this contest, going to be fun trying this. Don't think my PC's ever been rebooted as much as it will be with this :3
 
Their is a know problem with certain AMD platforms and CPUz. It has been discussed many times in the HWBOT crews room.
 
Hey :) Need a little clarification please. Lowest % underclock could be interpreted as the smallest underclock... or.... the smallest drop in speed compared to stock.... 0.5MHz etc?

It makes more sense to read it as lowest CPU speed compared to the stock... or... getting a 3GHz chip to run at 1GHz

Intersting take on a comp from a new angle... not sure i've got anything Gigabyte laying around to enter with but i'm keen to watch as things go on.
 
wish i could overclock... (dont think changing my cpu multiplier counts tbh :p ) cos man that looks like one hell of a mobo

Do we really need a hwbot validation for the cpu score on 3d06? what if we only run the cpu part of the test cos running the 3d parts is just a huge time waste.
 
You can submit your result to HWBOT without running the graphics tests. That is not a problem.

I am curious as to why OCUK are still required to blur out the name of the chipset even though it is common knowledge what it is. And if only my dell 1558 were able to take part - it underclocks itself all the way from 2261 Mhz to 133 Mhz all on its own when it overheats XD. Or at least it did until I replaced all the "thermal pads" in it.

Its a percentage based, so it may even be the other way around. If you have a CPU that's 4Ghz out of the box, getting it up to 5Ghz would only be a 25% overclock. My 1055T was 2.8Ghz out of the box, and is currently running at 3.85Ghz. That's a 37.5% overclock.

The only possible place it would matter may be the 3dmark CPU score, but those aren't exactly high. The challenge is to hit a certain number, not to get as high a score as possible.
