Kids aren't getting stupider exams are getting easier!!!!*

OP - you've posted 16,498 times on OcUK. Have you ever seen somebody type 'Thank's' ? If so, think about the amount of times 'thanks' has been typed instead :p

*Might have been tongue in cheek

;)

Thanks

why would you even ask mate?

can't say in all my 26 years that i have seen thanks spelt thank's

Quite. I wasn't aware that it could be used as a contraction for has. I thought only is.

it's not even a contraction for has, it's possessive.

"Dave's car" simply means "Dave's car" not Dave has car, or Dave is car or anything else

That was my point.

For possession: First you put their name, followed by an apostrophe, follwed by an s.

So you put their name:

Paul Thank

Follwed by an apostrophe

Paul Thank'

Followed by an s

Paul Thank's

Let's apply this to another situation:

The vehicle of John.

To make John the subject, first you write his name:

John

Then apostrophe:

John'

Then s:

John's

And you get:

John's vehicle.

Understand this?
